I ordered the black-and-white gold doorbell. It arrived in a timely manner. The things i like and dislike about it. I like some of the ringtones. They have a few good ones.. the dislike is ..... way too many ringtones to chose from. I am using this for the front door of the house. It didn't come with a doorbell. It comes with a small battery. Not sure how long this battery will last. It also comes with some small screws and sticky pad to stick it to the wall. The doorbell is loud.. you can adjust it lower OR have it off. I need a doorbell that can pair one transmitter and 2 receivers so I can put one receiver on both levels of the house. Previous to this model I could only have one receiver, which lead to not being able to hear the chime on the secondary level of the home. This model is snappy looking, it looks high end, unlike the one I currently have. What I LOVE about this doorbell is that you can pair the transmitter to two receivers and have them play two different chimes! There is also a volume switch that goes from a whisper level to a very loud level that you could probably hear at the neighbors house! The transmitter, which is battery operated, is mounted near/on the door and the receiver is plugged into an electrical outlet of your choice. The battery is supplied in the box and can also be purchased locally when needed. There are multiple chimes to choose from so you can customize according to your taste or fun options for holidays and special occasions. I would definitely recommend this gem! ... show more

    • Perfect doorbell for renters!
It's also perfect for those, like myself, who don't want to start drilling holes and running wires inside your walls to go to a transformer, a chime, a power source, etc. The receiver/"base unit" simply plugs into a regular two-prong outlet, while the doorbell (or transmitter, if you will) can be mounted outside with either two small screws or a small pre-cut pad of double-sided tape. We have a manufactured home, so I was worried that the metal exterior might interfere with the transmitter.I'm glad to say it did not. It's been able to shoot through the house like it's a piece of paper. :) The receiver also has more chimes then you can shake a stick at, and (I think) three volume levels. In short, choose a central location for the receiver, and you should be able to hear it throughout the house. :) I'm very happy with the unit, and would recommend it without hesitation to others who are wanting to add a doorbell to their home. I think it took me longer to chose the ringtone than to actually mount the thing! :) ... show more

    • ONLY ONE RECEIVER - otherwise a nice simple doorbell, limits its use
I know we live in an age where our doorbells can serve up live video footage of the person on your doorstep, but I've else felt like those were a weirdly two-way invasion of privacy, both because the person being recorded might not know it and because those things usually come with an internet connectivity function to post the videos online - and I really think that's a step too far. So I like to keep my doorbells simple. This is my speed. Unfortunately, it's only got one chime plug-in receiver which REALLY limits its usefulness and the type of household that will be able to make effective use. For apartments and ranch or bungalow style homes with a single-floor and centralized floor plan, you could probably make do with this. But for us, it wasn't ideal. With two kiddos (one constantly crying) and two doggos making their own breed of noise, and with two stories with a bit of a weird floorplan, 1 receiver can result in a lot of missed rings and a lot of "Wait, was that the doorbell?" moments. Granted that's on me, as I should have checked to ensure it had what we really needed. It's been awhile since I've seen a doorbell with just one chime unit considering how cheap they are though. ***Overall Value*** Anyways, if you live in a smaller space and want a nice and easy one receiver solution, this works great. I live in a senior housing. It's nice comfortable and safe. But everyone seemed to have a doorbell on their doors. I love this one. It rings rice giving me time to get to the door. I can hear it in the bathroom so it is very easy for me to respond. I would suggest this to any senior that lives in an apartment building. ... show more

Good quality doorbell, sturdy and durable. The doorbell was easy to install, instructions are included. Rings loud enough for you to hear but if your TV or radio is too loud you might not hear it.

    • Wireless doorbell for my RV
I'm using this for the front door of my RV. It's hard to hear people knocking when you're in the back, so I plugged the receiver in the bedroom so I can hear when someone's at the front door. I use the standard default traditional doorbell sound - so I know the doorbell is ringing - but if you like something else there are another 50 plus synthesized sounds and tunes which are all pretty cheesy but fun - including accordion, piano, harp and horns music, along with a few bird songs. There is a volume control - and the volume can get pretty loud so this would be good for a house as well. The receiver I plugged in is about 25 feet from the door and it works fine. The doorbell transmitter comes with a battery, double stick tape, screws and a little sticker which you can put by the doorbell that says "ring me" - which is handy for me because most people don't expect a doorbell on a class A motorhome. ... show more
