    • Excellent product, stood up to hours of pouring rain!
First, this is not a paid nor motivated review, I haven not been asked to write it. Second, I have only used the bag once, I cannot comment on long-term durability. My vehicle has guard-rails that we used to secure the bag to. Also worth noting, we used the 6 buckle-straps, connected through the guard rails, as well as an additional ratchet strap over the center, and one of the longer secondary buckle straps that came with the carrier, also near the center. With the main 6 straps and the 2 additional ones, the bag never moved an inch. After spending days looking for the right car-top carrier bag, I settled on this one. It seemed that with all of the soft-shell carrier bags, there is always a concern in rain due to condensation and seeping through the zipper. However, we were driving through Utah and Colorado mid-summer, and didn't expect any rain, so ignored those concerns. Of course, it ended up POURING rain in the Colorado mountains. And not only did it rain, but we sat in the pouring rain stuck in HOURS of accident- and weather-related traffic, often at a stand still. When we got to our destination, we opened the car top carrier and everything was bone dry. No water in the bag, nothing wet or even damp. When we first loaded the car and left, we accidentally scraped the bag on a low garage ceiling. A 1/2 inch diameter hole tore open in the bag, and yet still, during the rain our stuff was dry. The media could not be loaded. Love this Cargo Storage!! Super easy to install. I absolutely love the fact that it is truly waterproof - there is even a flap over the zipper that velcros down over the zipper to keep water out. We put 2 suitcases in it to free up space in the truck but we could have fit 6 suitcases no problem. I am overwhelmingly happy with this, thank you!! ... show more

This cargo bag is exactly what I was looking for. Fits way more than I expected. I have a large suitcase and two medium suitcases as shown in the picture. I needed more stuff to put in the storage. Took a nice little two hour road trip and it worked great. The zippers are great quality and the thickness of the bag is ideal. The bag also has Velcro to keep the zipper protected.     • Great storage for our family trips
We bought and used this bag to carry our large items on a family trip. The bag was very easy to install. I had to install the bag directly on the roof and my roof rack bars were a little too far apart to make the bag work easily. The four straps made it easy to lock down on the rooftop. We took the bag on a short trip, but it made all the difference. It allows us to keep our inside clean and clutter-free. All of our luggage bags fit inside for the trip to the beach. The bag has not seen any kind of rain in our usage, but I can speak to sunny driving conditions. Also, I noticed very little drag from the bag being on top of a minivan.     • Great buy
This bag was great! Super easy to install on my van, took about 2 minutes. Loaded easily and just cinched it down. 600 mile trip, pouring rain part of it with minimal leaking. It rode like it was part of the vehicle, zero movement the entire trip. We did padlock the zippers to make sure they stayed closed. At one point one of the velcro came loose a little and I think thats when the small amount of water came in. Nothing I was concerned about and probably operator error. It folded up easily when we got to our destination and is ready for the next trip! I would definitely recommend it! We were able to fit 6 duffle bags in it and some pillows and still had a quite a bit of space to spare. It also did not impact my gas mileage much which surprised me. ... show more

    • Great inexpensive cargo bag.
Worked great for our 2000+ mile trip to Florida. The bag is NOT waterproof, not sure why they have that in some descriptions. It's a zippered fabric bag, that's simply impossible! I did spray it with water sealing spray (scotchgard) before using it, and I think that helped a LOT! We went through really bad thunderstorms daily, and one night it rained buckets for hours. Some contents were slightly damp but not soaked. I store mostly bulky beach gear and random items not often needed in it. Don't store anything that would be permanently damaged getting wet/damp! Held up to the beating - zipper works great and it's easy to attach and remove from the car. Only negative - Tie down straps would sometimes loosen a bit, after a few hundred miles I'd need to check them and cinch them down if needed during trip. ... show more

I relocated using this carrier and could not have been more satisfied. It was very easy to install and uninstall. The capacity is outstanding. I filled it up completely and with heavy items. No problems at all. I was happy to be able to collapse it into a very small space when finished.

Overall I questioned the amount of space this would provide me and whether or not it would hold up in the rain. Space wise I was completely satisfied and I'm glad this purchase was made. This cargo bag will be handy during camping and future road trips. When it comes to being waterproof - I wouldn't say that the bag can withstand multiple days of rain pour. I noticed after a few days of heavy moisture - when I pulled my blankets from the top, parts of the were wet. This could have been from the flap not being over the zipper - and the small amount of water that came in was wicked up by the blanket - not sure. The other items were bone dry though. ... show more
