Bought this because of the small size of the receiver, and I can plug it in directly to my mixer or powered speaker. It works well, and the sound quality is great! No issues with it so far. The only things I have noticed are, 1) when you press the power button on the microphone, there is a click in the speaker. It's not terrible, but I turn the microphone off between announcements, mostly to save battery power. So, there are clicks that happen. 2) when you power on the microphone, there is a slight delay while it connects to the receiver. It means you just have to remember to wait a bit before talking into the microphone. ... show more

I've had 2 of these in the past year and after while only on works and they went me out one to pair with the other and still don't work. They want me to do all kinds of pairing which I tried and still only one works. Pretty much they stopped replying to my messages and just ghost me.

I have a deaf brother in law and bought these so we could use dictation mode on an Apple laptop and have text come up on a TV while his FIVE sisters chatter. He has a phone app but they all chatter at the same time and the phone just gives up. This way, we can have two mikes they can pass around. Well, it didn't work. Apple would not recognize the input module. I contacted Hotec response and WHAT A response, excellent, detailed, insightful. Working together, we found out some Apple laptops work, others don't. So, what next. They suggested I buy a $7 Hotec cable and try again. I bought it, no good. Then I plugged in a USB audio dongle into my laptop and used the Hotec cable to reduce from the 1/4" plug on the interface device to the 1/8" dongle input. It worked like MAGIC. You can use both mikes and everything works great. I'm an Electrical Engineer who works with all sorts of complex equipment, but this had me stumped. Thank you Hotec Support!!! ... show more

These mics are great as backup mics, or karaoke mics. However, you will need to boost the gain on the mixing board to get the same feel as a Shure mic, for instance. The battery life is not great, but that can be solved by simply letting it charge while you use it. Tweak the settings to your preferred sound and I promise you, these are definitely worth the money spent. Great to add to the collection!! ... show more

Easy set up, worked perfect. Battery on mic's don't last with batteries that were provided. Maybe better batteries will last longer. Reciever broke inside speaker but maybe it was a detected one. Returned for replacement hopefully it's better. Overall LOVE IT!!! Update: So I’m buying yet another one because the receiver plug broke again. One thing I would suggest is making the receiver flat so it lays up against whatever you’re plugging it into rather than sticking out. I bought the single mic thinking I could pair it to the two (I’d have 3mics) but it doesn’t. Oh and the batteries for the mic don’t last long no matter what brand you use (on the down side) I still love it though!!!!! ... show more

We bought this to use with our Singtrix karaoke machine to keep people apart while singing. The mics are very clear and everyone swore they sounded better on these than the wired mics. A side benefit with the Singtrix is you can plug the wireless receiver into the Mic 1 port and both singers get the sound effects from the Singtrix. Battery life was not an issue over three or so hours but we haven't put it to a longer test. The packaging was solid and the fit and finish of the products seem very good for the price.
