  • Great Mic System For Karaoke DJs Like Me! Here's Why...
Style: 2 Mics Color: Grey
The media could not be loaded. *To see how this mic system performed in various mic tests, such as in a loud environment, distance, and behind objects, please refer to my attached video review* I’m a karaoke DJ. I’ve used this mic system now at multiple karaoke events I have DJed at. Right off the bat, I was super impressed with this mic system. First off, the build quality of this mic is superb. The majority of the outside mic casing feels like it’s made of metal. Some of the people at my events get drunk so the possibility of mics falling is high. This mic feels like it could withstand drops, which is a huge plus. Using this system at the events I worked at, this mic system performed wonderfully. I had no drops or pops in the mic sound. Each mic sounded great. One of the only downsides to this system is that both mics look identical. When I was trying to adjust the volume when people were singing too loudly in each mic, I had a hard time determining which mic was which because the mics look the same. I felt like I had to guess which volume knob to turn down. However, this is a simple problem to fix by just putting some colored tape on each mic or something that can be used to distinguish one mic from the other. In terms of isolating vocals, this mic performed well. Refer to my mic test in my attached video to see how this mic performed isolating my voice next to a loud freeway. When testing this mic behind objects, this mic did well at close distance, but I started to encounter pops in the audio further away from the receiver, which you can see in the attached video I did testing this mic behind trees at various distances. In my distance mic test, which you can see in the attached video, this mic experienced unpredictable pops and drops beyond 180 feet, when testing it line of sight in a grassy field. There may have been some pops in the mic sound less than 180 feet as well. Overall, I would recommend this mic system for close range events. I think this mic sounded great and the build quality is superb, which is a must have feature if you plan on doing events where intoxicated people will be using your mics, where a mic falling is inevitable. I have used a lot of mics. This is definitely one of the better budget mic systems out there. If you are doing karaoke events, like I do, then yes, this is a great mic. I do have more expensive mics I could use. If you plan on working with drunk people, why risk using expensive mics that are hundreds of dollars, if you can still get a good sound for much cheaper in a sturdy mic. I’ve literally had a drunk person before purposefully drop one of my Shure mics (belonging to a mic system that was hundreds of dollars) on the ground after singing karaoke. However, for events where you need a long range mic that can give you a reliable sound hundreds of feet away from the receiver, then I would not recommend this mic system. For the closer range events, I would definitely use this system again. It is also so easy to use and setup! ... show more

  • Quality!
Style: 4 Mics Color: Grey & Red
These paired 3 of the 4 mics right away. Had to refer to manual for pairing 4th one. Manual didn't state that receiver had be turned off so was little hard to get it paired. Thought was going have to return. Previously I had the 2 mic with plug in receiver (to mixer) before, and everyone loved sound. Only problem was the receiver on 2 mic only lasted 8 mo. and you couldn't replace receiver only. Don't like fact that I can't use the 2 mics with this 4 mic system. Only 4 channels and will not pair if one of the 4 mics goes out. One shld be able to pair any mic to a receiver. I'm hoping this 4 channel receiver will last longer than 8 months. If it doesn't, I won't buy this product again. Overall so far, sounds great, works good. ... show more

  • Compares very well to Sennheiser ew100
Style: 2 Mics Color: Grey
I found the reviews helpful and informative but saying it's a "great value for the money" doesn't give me the information I want to know. I've put together a review that compares the Tonor mics to the "industry standard" Sennheiser ew100. I've owned a pair of Sennheiser ew100 handheld wireless mics and body packs for 15 years. It's an awesome mic that has never given me any problems and only 1 dropout in over 2000 events. The Tonor mics are not equal to Sennheisers but they hold up well. Here's my breakdown. Sound Clarity: The crispness and clearness of the sound output Sennheiser 10 - Tonor 8 Smoothness: How pleasant to the ears do they sound Sennheiser 10 - Tonor 8 Distance A: For users who hold the mic an inch from their mouth Sennheiser 10 - Tonor 9 Distance B: For users who hold the mic below their chin Sennheiser 8 - Tonor 4 Handling Noise: This is noise you hear when performers are holding the mic The Tonor mics have screw on barrels that need to be firmly tightened before being given to performers. They also tend to loosen up over time so keep an ear out for that. Sennheiser 0 - Tonor 3 (Less is Best) Noise / Hiss / Hum: The noise exhibited from every analog electronic device If you're using a good live sound board Yamaha, Mackie, Soundcraft, A & H you'll be fine. If you're doing studio recordings use another mic. Sennheiser 0 - Tonor 2 (Less is Best) Battery Life: Using 2 AA Alkaline batteries. Easily 10 hours. The batteries can be used for multiple events. Just turn the mics off when their not in use. My only gripe is that the receiving unit does not have a battery life indicator. The transmitter (wireless mic) does have a battery life indicator. Muting Circuit: When turning the wireless mics off there is no popping or explosive white noise that would wake the dead. It's the same for the receiver. In retrospect, I'll still use my Sennheisers for critical situations (Live Soloist, Singer, Wedding Ceremony, Guest Speaker etc.) The Tonor mics were purchased for use in situations where I didn't want to risk having my Sennheisers damaged by people who didn't know what they were doing (Party Guests, Emcees, etc.) Could the Tonors be used in critical situations? Yes. Just test them ahead of time to ensure they'll work as intended. My conclusion is that they are very capable mics for events and bands. I purchased 2 units (4 mics) and they've worked great. And most importantly if they were to get damaged I can get a replacement very easily and inexpensively. I contacted Tonor about body packs and I was told it's in the works. Good Luck! ... show more

  • Excellent Sound
Style: 2 Mics Color: Black & Red
This microphone set is incredible for the quality and the price. The sound is crystal clear. Of course, it also depends on good quality speaker too. I would highly recommend this for home party or karaoke fun.
