I purchased this safe in February of 2021. I used it (locked and unlocked it) all of 5 times. Now here I am in August of 2021 with a safe I can't use because the key is stuck won't turn. I'm thankful that it got stuck unlocked but I'm I'm pissed because it's useless if it won't there's a key stuck in it 😭😭 Amazon says they can't help because I purchased it a long time ago. I'm like it's a SAFE it's not like it's being used often and 6months is not a long time in the matter of a safe !! Do not buy. I bought one and the very next day after I put my personal items inside they key did not work. I called the customer service number on the safe and box, they kept transferring me to a different person. It took a couple of hours before someone was finally able to get it open. Once I removed my belongings I tried the key again thinking I was doing something wrong and it did not work. I do not recommend this product. I am returning mines. ... show more

I bought this less than 3 months ago. Put some papers and such in it, stored it in my closet and haven’t touched it since. Today I went to go get a document out of it, and the lid is completely cracked. It was stored flat on a shelf in my closet. The cracks almost look like something heavy was put on it, but you can feel that the crack is coming from below, it’s raised in the middle and goes out flat toward the sides. (As opposed to deeper in the middle of there had been something weighing it down) Of course I’m past my return date, and this no longer serves the purpose of keeping anything safe from a fire. This is a very good product, and it gives me some peace of mind knowing that my valuables are locked away in a lockbox. The box is quite heavy for its size, which might be good because it is not the easiest thing to steal. And while it is compact, it is also relatively easy to hide. The lock & keys are the cheapest junk I've ever seen. A dollar store padlock would be 100 times better. Maybe the box will protect against fire, but can I trust their claims on that either?

This thing weighs a ton and I have confidence that it will withstand some abuse before cracking up, except for the handle. The handle feels like cheap plastic and I am not sure I would be comfortable carrying it around town by that handle. Thankfully, this is not a briefcase, so tucked away on a shelf in the closet it should do it's just just fine. The interior compartment is about the size of a thick hardcover book. You won't fit a full sheet of paper without folding it, but there is enough depth to put a lot in there. Keys fit in the lock well, and aside from the handle, the fit and finish inspires confidence. I was hesitant after reading reviews of people not being able to open it, but I think it's fine. At first I had to work to get it open, but after a few jiggling I found a gentler touch is what works, and I don't have any more issues. I got it for smaller items, but I kind of wish it were a little larger to fit paper without folding.
