  • Some issues but overall good
Color: Green
The box is incredibly heavy, so you will need someone to maybe help you move it inside your house. It comes 100% disassembled and took hours and hours for me to put together even with help. I am slightly concerned because at one point when I was unpacking the box, it looked like it was contaminated with fiberglass. I'm still not sure... yikes! (See photos) A few of the dowels were broken off but luckily was still able to assemble. It had extras of all the screws which I appreciated. It also has a locking system for each of the pieces that fit together which was interesting. It seems to be sturdy enough and of good quality for what I paid. I appreciated that it has the heavy, stainless top instead of a butcher block and also the knobs match my cabinets. I decided not to put the caster wheels on it but they were nice and heavy. It has plenty of storage space inside and the shelf clips that support the shelves or metal instead of plastic and we're also padded, which I thought was a great detail. The most tedious part was peeling the stickers off of everything, which I eventually just gave up on the second most tedious thing was assembling the drawers. One drawer had a random staple sticking out of it, but I was able to push it inward, and still assemble. I was worried that this would look super cheap but actually looks quite nice and was $100 less than the same thing on Wayfair. I feel like it was worth the 200 something I paid. ... show more

  • Arrived quickly. Easy assembly.
Color: Black
This island arrived yesterday. I opened the box at 9 pm and had it together by 11 pm, without help. That was with a LOT of interruptions to the process. I imagine it would have taken maybe 70-90 minutes without that. I did use a drill, but I turned the power down so I wouldn't damage the hardware. It would have taken much longer screwing by hand. I have put together a lot of furniture though, so it wasn't like it was my first time. FWIW, my daughters are always impressed that their mom does this stuff more than their dad, The instructions were clear and all the hardware and parts were labeled well. Everything lined up accurately and fit together easily. Even with what I'll mention next, this was one of the easier assemblies I've done for a pretty large item. The biggest annoyance/pain was closing the locks that help hold some of the pieces together where typical screws can't be used. In other furniture assemblies I've done, these were in places where cam locks would have been used. You'd think this would make the process easier, but some of them seemed almost impossible to close, especially in the places where I couldn't get good leverage. This could be partially because I have the beginnings of arthritis and carpal tunnel, but the lock levers really just needed a way to get better leverage. I wound up using a tiny mallet to hit a few of them down with a rag in between the mallet and surface to help keep from damaging the cabinet. Also an annoyance, I didn't want to install the paper towel holder, but that would leave holes in the side. It would be a plus if it came with something to cap off those holes. I'll add that on my own when I find something sufficient. The locking wheels leave a little to be desired. The cabinet is in the middle of our floor and will still move pretty easily if you bump into it. I'm considering replacing the wheels with feet. should be pretty easy based on the design. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. 4/5 for the little annoyances I mentioned. I needed something fairly narrow for the space where I'm using it, and it fit perfectly for a decent price. ... show more

  • Nice looking, relatively easy to assemble
Color: Off White
Pretty happy with it! The color is nice, kind of a creamy off-white. All the parts were included and in good shape, which I was worried about after seeing some reviews. I got lucky with a delivery without incident I guess. I bought this for a coffee station and a place to store extra appliances, especially my stand mixer. The shelves are adjustable, but you can see how much my mixer takes up on the bottom shelf, so I’ll have either get rid of one of the shelves to make room for more stuff, or use those top shelves for low profile items, maybe kitchen towels or something. Other reviews mentioned off-gassing, and it is definitely doing that here, it’s not overwhelming (to me, others might be more sensitive to it), but I do notice it when I walk in the house. I keep wiping it down with a damp soapy cloth and leaving all the drawers and cabinet open, hoping that those fumes dissipate as the soapy water evaporates. That’s worked for other items I’ve had in the past like this. This took me about 2- 2.5 hours to assemble, but it was extremely easy. I’d only used the hex wrench and a philips screwdriver, although you could use a power drill, I’m always afraid of over tightening. I had my husband help me through the first few steps, to assemble the base and side walls, although I probably could have done it alone, it’s easier with an extra pair of hands to line everything up properly. The instructions are pretty straightforward and most steps were easy to follow, a couple of them I had to noodle on. Tip: when you’re assembling the drawers, it helps to take the side panels and pretend you’re going to slide them into the tracks, to help you see how everything should be assembled: I slipped up on my second one and had the front and back panels reversed. Had to take it all apart and switch them around. I appreciate that the parts are all labeled, including all the fasteners and hardware, were named exactly what they are (wood screws, machine screws, etc). That made it so much easier than other items we’ve had to assemble. Things went together easily, the only thing I wasn’t able to fasten down was the two clips underneath the center of the countertop, there was a gap I just could not solve despite all the other fasteners on the perimeter having been closed. It doesn’t seem to affect anything though, so I’m shrugging it off for now. The other issue is, the cabinet doors are slightly misaligned, I think it has something to do with the left door hinge, I’m going to tinker with the hinge screws a bit to see if that might help. I’ll update my review if I notice anything else. But so far, I’m pleased with the quality of the materials and the value. ... show more
