After my husband was able to rig the right size Allen key to my drill second day went much faster. I recommend finding the correct hex nut adapter for your drill! Game changer! Also used a Philips rachet for the Phillips screws. Picture directions are ok. Did have to make sure picture and pieces were aligned on a few steps. I can't really speak to the quality of the parts (this is the only portable kitchen I've owned), but this has been so nice for me and my wife when we are cooking. I did initially think that the bar on the side was for a paper towel roll, but I don't think that is what that's for. Regardless, I do use it for my clean (non-paper) towel. Size: Our kitchen was lacking slightly on counter space, and on outlets. This was the perfect place to put our coffee maker & electric kettle. It seems durable enough, we haven't had any issues in the month or two that we've used it. I was a little concerned about the size, as this seems a little smaller than some of the others out there. There is a foldable extension to the island if you need it. However, for our kitchen, it fits perfectly without using the extension. Just make sure you measure where you want to put it. The drawer and larger cabinet on the bottom are also very useful so that we don't have to store our utensils in vases :). The cabinet has an adjustable shelf, which is nice if you're storing larger items. There are also 3 small shelves on the side. Personally, I'd like if they had a little more space between them. We keep the most used stuff on the top shelf since it's most easily accessible, and the stuff that we don't use super often on the bottom 2 shelves. I assembled the unit by myself, taking my time it took 3 hours. It was not difficult. There are far more screws than are necessary and the screw selection can be confusing. I used the wrong ones for the wheels. The points are coming through the otherside with a few of them. The unit is very roomy, the drawer is wide and deep enough for 2 utensil trays turned sideways. I did not install the towel rack, it took up too much of my valuable space. Love the spice rack! The doors are a bit thinner than I would like for the long term. I'll be happy to get a few good years out of it. Glad I bought it and feel it's a good value. ... show more

So, it is not the easiest thing to put together BUT once you do it is great. In one of the labeled bags...there are two different sizes of screws and it matters. If you use the longer screw (even though it tells you to use bag A) it will poke through the wood and show. SO, just know that you need to look in each bag and separate those screws before you start. The screws should have been separated to begin with. Also, the first island I received was damaged in shipping and the top was cracked BUT this company immediately sent us a replacement so the customer service was outstanding. To live on a budget in NYC in a small space this rolling kitchen cart is thee answer for all who cook. Whether you can or cannot doesn't matter because this cart is many things in a small space such as a desk, bar, influencer's studio/set, et cetera. It is a super easy and fun building experience. I went for the dark colour rather than white and looks great! Why the sticky tabs supplied to hide the screws (optional) fall off is something I find somewhat frustrating.     • Very nice but difficult to install
Purchased this after going back and forth between different styles and brands because of the high rated reviews. So here’s my thoughts. The most annoying part is the manual is very difficult to understand since there’s very little explaination and but just pictures of directions and you basically have to figure out yourself by lookin at the pictures. So that part take the longest. And they only give you a little tiny Allen wrench to work with which takes FOREVER!!! Highly recommend a drill or some kind of electric tools to help with that process or else your fingers will hate you for days. Installment time will depends on how experience you are at building things and if you have the tools to help. I didn’t so it took me hours. It was too much for the fingers so basically two days. LOL. Other than that when it’s done it is beautiful and very sturdy. I got so many compliments when people came and saw it in person. I guess it is worth the price and the pain my fingers went through lol ... show more

This island puts ikea to shame. It took my husband 5 hours to put this together. There were so many pieces, so if you don't want to assemble, this isn't for you. Also, it wasn't designed very well as you can't really use the paper towel holder as there is no way to put the paper towel on it unless you loosen the inside. The plugs also make no sense. Unless you have outlets in the floor, you would have to run an extension cord to meet the wall. It ended up to be smaller than we were anticipating, which was our own fault. Otherwise, it's ok and serves its purpose. Don't lean on it as it will fall over if it isn't full. The wheel locks do stop it, but not completely from moving. It wasn't what I had hoped for, but it will work for now, plus it was a lot less expensive than other options. ... show more
