Had to connect "Red to Red, Black to Black" wires myself to back of CD box. Easy-peasy, even for an old Chick! Placed an ALABAMA CD in...pressed two buttons and voila! I got "stereo sound" gently "booming" inside my Kitchen now. This is perfect for the bedroom or kitchen. Fits nicely in the center of my 6' long countertop that has a 16" depth. May be too big for a nightstand, but will be perfect on a dresser. Don't forget it comes with a remote! All you need are 2-AAA batteries. Sound is great & very easy to adjust. All levels work fine. If you're a HARD ROCKER this may not have enough BOOM POWER for you, but if you don't want to "go deaf" in your old age, this little CD player is the perfect one for you! I LOVE it! Yes, I would definitely buy it again, especially for one of my college bound Grandkids! Nice for the price...thank you LONPOO! Also, bought the extended Warranty. I received this yesterday and set it up today; wow, what great sound you get out of this little system!! It sounds like a much larger, much more expensive stereo system…you get a lot of bang for the buck. I’m very impressed - 5 stars for sure!!!!

This unit was very easy to set up - there's enough wire so you can put the speakers where there's room on your shelves instead of immediately adjacent to the unit; the remote is easy to use, the connections are in the front [chosen purposefully for that] so a line in or USB connection is a snap, no moving things around to find the place to make the connection. On the plus side this unit is very compact, easy to set up, and inexpensive. On the down side the sound quality is poor and it doesn't have much volume.

I'm using an old pair of Orb mod1 speakers as replacements and this makes a huge difference. CDs now sound acceptably good. I suspect the Klipsch R-14M speakers would be a really good match. My wife likes the simplicity of the standby function, which will resume CDs. Without new speakers this is a poor sounding system. I'm rating this a 4 because of the quality of the control unit. Reception is decent, given that you can position the wire antenna: I get 20 stations and I'm in a poor location about 25 miles from most stations. Lonpoo, please add a standard FM socket. I strongly recommend using the Rock EQ - big improvement. ... show more
