This pin is just right for backyard chickens. When putting the "C" pipes in, be sure to check the way they are put in on the corners . They could be put in upside down or turned the wrong way and the corner pipe will not have the holes in the right direction to install. The size we chose 12x14, is measured to fit on top of 4x4s to stabilize the frame. We screwed the pin frame to the 4x4s, then set a board on the bottom edge of of the wire leaving room to secure the wire later. We rolled the wire over the frame from one side to the other. We put a board on the wire at the bottom to secure later. Then used tie strap securing the wire from the top pipe down the frame to the front lower edge. Then did the same on the other side and then the front and back. We then secured the bottom edge of the wire with a 1x4 on top of the wire and screwed it to the 4x4 frame. The door does have a gap, but my husband cut plywood strips to mount to the frame on the back of the gap. He drilled holes in the pipe and used deck screws to mount it. We mounted ours to the coop (the coop is large.). Leaving the wire off the back of the frame,securing the wire to the wall. We are very pleased with this pin. The pipes are really strong and the wire is equivalent to the 1 inch wire for chicken coops sold at other supply stores. We hope this helps. ... show more

I have two grown peacocks in this cage and they are so happy in it. I did reinforce the netting with an added cover of metal fabric because I had a mountain lion break into a corner of the unit - but otherwise this coop is fantastic. Easy to assemble - I'm a 70 year old female and built it entirely on my own connecting it to an additional 10 foot cage so they have lots of room to roam. I put in a line of misters along the top for cool water to spray during our hot summers. The cover is a real asset as it fits perfectly and shades very well and also protects during rain. We purchased this because we were forced to re-home our roosters, after which I was the one guarding my girls when they free ranged. Likes: More room and grass for my girls to “free-range”, keeps them safe from hawks, sturdy, semi-easy construction. Dislikes: I do wish it was structurally more robust (we have big red tailed hawks) i.e., 1.5-2 inch poles of thicker metal, hardware cloth or fencing (see photo with larger red coop), and washers. Of course all this means more $$$ It took my husband and I about 6 hours to build. Mostly due to all the zip ties. ZIP TIES UP THE YING YANG😵💫!!! Manufacturer did supply a good amount, but it wasn’t enough and we ended up getting more. I believe this chicken run is a good purchase. ... show more

The bars are thinner than my last run that I bought but it seems sturdier. I attach this to my coop and I have 14 birds that use this during the day and they are very happy in it it's very roomy. All the parts were there I only had to use a hammer to bang down one part. The fencing was very easy to cut with a sturdy pair of scissors. I put it up by myself. The only thing I needed help from my husband and son was to move it into position because we're the coop is it's not level so I couldn't put it together there. This is not for protection from predators overnight. You wouldn't even protect them during the day it just keeps them contained. If you want protection overnight don't put the chicken wire up that came with it you're going to need to buy hardware cloth. ... show more

    • Went from Great to Excellent
Received the product on time, 2 boxes as expected. Used a wagon to transport to the setup location, suggest 2 people or something to help you move as they are heavy. Setup of the frame was extremely easy. Did not need 2 people (Although I am 6' and tall enough to reach center tall frame points. Everything clicked together quite easily, no issues with frame at all. Could tell it was not as flimsy as other products out there, the 1.25" and increased thickness will surely hold up better in what can be a windy south florida. Finding flat ground is going to be important for the frame to sit flat, however even on a slight uneven ground the frame still work perfectly. The two person job comes when you have to put on the chicken wire. As others have mentioned, this job takes longer than setting up the frame. Suggest to just get a few zip ties on each piece and after all chicken wire is up, go back and tighten up everything. Overall enough wire to wrap the entire frame, but you won't have much extra if any at all. Don't waste it during install. I did run into a slight issue during installation, however HITTITE was extremely responsive and was able to provide a solution to the issue. I can't stress enough how helpful HITTITE was to me during this process. Not only do they have a great product here that is easy to set up, but they clearly stand behind their product. It's nice to have your cake and eat it too! I would definitely recommend this product, i'm using it as a chicken run. Note the chicken wire is great to keep your chickens in, but will not keep predators out. If you have a predator area, suggest to reinforce areas with hardware cloth or other products. Very easy to put up, good quality and more than enough room. Only bad part was tarp had a hole in it but not a big deal. I would definitely buy again and recommend to others.

Not the easiest to setup, and not the highest quality, BUT for the price, it is an amazing purchase. It keeps the chickens in, it doesn’t look terrible, and it works as advertised. I would highly recommend for a low cost solution to keeping your birds safe.
