  • Solid and effective
Style: -20-Degree Size: 50-Foot
I haven't had this for long, but I can see where some people might have encountered or caused their problems. But to put this simply, this works and it works well! So, more in depth: I bought this for the obvious, I do not want my water lines to freeze. I intended to buy a -40 rated 25' hose, but instead got this one ( -20 rated 50'). I am not disappointed though, it was a mistake on MY part not the vendor. This is longer than I needed but hey, I can use it in multiple locations where 25' may not be suitable. So, first off I plug this in on the shore side, not my RV. There is plenty of lead without being obnoxiously long. However, some may encounter issues where the water is far away from shore power, in which case use an extension cord (not recommended) or plug into your RV (which is again, not recommended and often would use an extension cord as well). Use the 2 INCLUDED foam sleeves to protect the connection joints. Use a wrench to lightly tighten, at JUST over hand tight. NOT A LOT, just barely...and this is where people have problems. They either use just hand tight, which causes leaks. But too tight and you destroy the rubber gasket, causing more leaks. And possibly destroys the metal connection. Now, you haver a little lead on the RV side of the hose too, JUST enough to wrap an elbow joint. Feed that into a look and pull the sensor through the sleeve (leave it exposed). With that my water has consistently been held above the freezing point, and even warmer than expected in the hose on cold days. Pros: Effective heat tolerance No off putting flavors in the water Simple setup (one step, just hook it up) Possible that you can use a long sleeve in order to decrease the freeze point (not recommended though) Cons: If you connect the water line too loosely or tightly you can destroy a $150 device MUST treat as electrical device! (This is a major issue in damp places, not so much in most places) ... show more

  • Good hose
Style: -20-Degree Size: 50-Foot
The media could not be loaded. This was my second purchase of a Camco heated water hose. Original purchase was for a 25 ft, this time I’d moved to a new spot that required more length. The hose I ordered appeared to have an issue as it was leaking water from inside the sleeve that houses the ‘heat’ portion of the hose. Amazon-linked ‘customer service’ for this issue took me to Camco’s website - which offered no direct way for immediate contact - just an email. As the forecast was looking to be pretty cold within the next few days - I opted for a replacement rather than to trouble-shoot. Would have liked to have shared video and gotten LIVE support. Would still recommend. The 25 ft hose did well last year for several days in a row of negative temps in middle TN, USA. ... show more

  • BOUGHT 2 AND BOTH TERRIBLE
Style: -20-Degree Size: 50-Foot
I bought two of these products 6 months apart from each other (march 2024 and October 2024) both brand new out of the box leaked from this hose connection fitting and is not fixable by replacing the standard hose gasket. Thought maybe it was just the first one was just a dud. It was not, the 2nd one was exactly the same and leaked out of BOTH connection fittings aswell. Yes i tried new gaskets, thread tape / dope, trying to tighten it a bit more, pressure reducer down to abt 35 psi. None of which worked. This product has potential of being good but they used such a low quality connection that it ruins the whole thing. Havent gotten to the point where Ive used it below freezing for more than 1 night so I cant comment on the freeze proofness of it. Tested it with an electrical meter and it uses 690W when plugged in and below the temp rating. I ended up having to repair the hose myself because I couldnt order a chinese brand one instead without running out of time before freezing temps (photographed repair of what is necessary for this to funtion propertly out of the box) but for the price point this hose is at I expect it to last at least 2 years without issues at least, I especially DO NOT expect it to leak being brand new out of the box. If you are going to do the repair you have to carefully cut the insulated sleeve back a few inches without cutting the hose or heated wire and then cut the original hose connector off. At that point you can use pretty much any hose repair threaded connector with a hefty hose clamp nice and tight (dont strip the hose clamp threads though). After spending another 15 min on the repair and $10 in parts you will then have a functional hose for at least 1 week. We'll see how long it lasts now. ... show more

  • Ok but Not great
Style: -20-Degree Size: 50-Foot
Hose is sturdy but not "bullet proof".Temps dipped into low 20s for 5-6 days and hose froze after 3 day.Hose did not burst though so that is a possitive.Dont know how you'd test for lower end functionality.

  • It’s a little pricey, but what isn’t now.
Style: -20-Degree Size: 50-Foot
We have been living in our RV for a lil bit now. We got this to get through winter. It worked great. I live in the south, and we actually had a cold winter this year. The hose never froze. We just had to cover the faucets.
