These clips have attached deck boards to my 80-foot front porch. They work very well. For the great price and the very sturdy clips my two minor issues are certainly outweighed in the overall value. The Philips screw heads are not quite as easy as the torx bit on the much more expensive brand, but they work well. I highly recommend these clips. I am not an expert but I am a handyman and I used these clips for a deck that I built and they worked great. I read the reviews complaining about the screws and the secret is "Buy the correct bit size for the screws you will be working with. Do not use a full size bit or you will ruin every single screw. Screw heads are like butter. If you hit a knot or are going into hard wood they will strip or break off. I completed my project with these, but would not recommend. If you use a new #2 Philips bit and a lot of pressure to keep the head from stripping out, they will work. I thought the screws might break off, but only 3 did. This was because of a knot. The plastic piece is great, but they went too cheap on the screws. Also be prepared to throw about 5% away because the Philips head is not properly machined. ... show more

The fastener itself is good but the screws are horrible quality. I spent a lot of time fixing screws where the tops broke off or striped due to the metal being very malleable. Buying new screws would be an option but then you might as well pay for Trex or Deck Plus brand so you get what you pay for.

WAY too easy to strip. There's a reason EVERY other deck fastener out there uses square or star (torx) drive style fasteners. Would not have purchased if I had done the diligence and comparison. Very easy for Philips drive to cam out of fastener and strip. Hopefully I'm not the next guy taking this deck apart! The only advantage is cost as they are a fraction of lumberyard prices and they do work as advertised other than wrong choice of drive system and no included bit (at least start with brand new and no guessing game on fitment). ... show more

I couldn’t recommend these clips more to anyone installing a composite deck. They made the install go so much faster than the hidden fasteners, kept our spacing and really allowed us to shave hours off install time. Great product, so glad I found and purchased.
