I have loved these hangers for years. But I need to hack them a lil'bit. The model with the little chunk'o'wood has always bothered me and that little piece of kindling seems like the weakest link to a great product. Maybe it's just me... usually is... I'm just sayin'... Since I always try to land them on a stud and this model isn't stud friendly on the top... (pause for the giggles and off color jokes)... I mount it to a piece of "13/16 in. x 4-3/4 in. x 7-3/4 in. Primed MDF Plinth Block Moulding" and anchor that to the stud with a #10 x 3 in wood screw that I pick up at the local Depot for the Home. I cut a piece of cardstock (5x8 index card) to the size of the block and used a sharpie to mark the the point the screws should go, taped it the the block and then used a spring loaded center punch to make the indentations where I need to drill the holes. Wash, rinse, repeat on the next one if you have more than one. I know it's a bit of overkill but for some reason I feel like it distributes the weight across a wider area for more stability... like wide tires on a vehicle... or someone who is not me belly flopping in a pool... I can still hear the smack and feel the pain...I mean, whoever it was that did that... because it wasn't me. Anyhow, to sum it up: Love them. Get wide. And don't belly flop in the pool. Or how about, you do you and do what works for you.As long as you are doing it with this, you can't go wrong, IMHO. ... show more

An instrument easily goes from 500 to 5000 or more, don't skimp on wall hangers or stands. Hercules is a quality product I've used on and off stage for years and they are still going strong.

These stands make it able to securely hang guitars on your wall with no apprehension. I used beveled 1 x 6's screwed into studs as ledger boards to attach the stands/hangers. This is the sturdiest means of mounting the stands/hangers. The weight of each guitar closes the locking arms which ensures the guitars remain in place. Lifting up the guitar will open the arms allowing you to remove the guitar. This is a well thought out means to hang your guitars. I enjoy looking at them every day. Highly recommend these "plus" stands and recommend you mount them on a ledger board setup for added safety. The screw holes are too far apart to allow all three to be attached to a standard stud. I have used the Hercules wall mounts for a long time. They are very strong and have a safety arm that closes to keep your guitar from falling. This new generation is stronger and more stable. I highly recommend it if you want to hang your guitars.
