I have a very active Pomsky and so with that comes a lot of separation anxiety and and destructive behaviors. This kennel is so nice because he can’t get claw away at the sides like he did with his wire one. His paws mostly just slide off the side. It’s way bigger then what I need given his size right now. But incase he does get bigger like more towards the husky size this will still fit really well for him. I love the double door opening. I used the pin latches instead of the spring ones. Simply because they’re easier to open for me. I would say it is def worth the money. Only took me about 20 mins to put together. The instructions aren’t very detailed but they’re in full color and not too hard to figure out. The wheel also move smoothly over my hardwood floors and appear to be heavy duty casters. ... show more

This is a very beautiful kennel. It is well built and very easy to put together. I put if together myself and it took me about 30 minutes. Now the reason l say it is a beautiful kennel is because if you are keeping it in your house which I am assuming is the case, it looks great. As far as keeping my dog inside, she gets out within 5 minutes. Yes I assembled it correctly. The inside bolts just don't cut if with a smart dog. My dog is able to pull the spring loaded bolts with her teeth and she is running free. I would have given it 5 stars but for the reason of it not being escape proof. I will fix this with two sliding bolt gate latches on the outside of the door that bolts shut. This really is a nice kennel! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Update: while it has the flaws I spoke about in my review, we were able to jump through few hoops and soder the spring locks into place. That side never opens now, and the locks on the outside are a little bent from previous escapes making a tiny challenge to unlock and lock. However now it works as it is supposed to. So works great if you have fixer upper expirience. Origenal: NOT husky proof! Customer service is top notch. It looks gorgeous, and maybe for a dog that doesn't need a real heavy duty crate, this will work, and be beautiful. But we needed a REAL heavy duty crate. Our husky bit the bars on his last Smonter crate (it worked grate for a few years) and was able to eventually bend it out of place so he could stick his head out (dangerous). We saw a $1,200.00 crate that was similar in design to this new crate. So we tried this crate instead hoping to save money. 1st, it's kinda a pain to set up compared to our last heavy duty Smonter. You have to assemble the walls then the bottom then add the top, do the hardware, set up the locking mechanism etc etc etc. It's very time consuming and not user friendly for people who like to bring their crate with them. Wish it would have just folded with minimal work and minimal screws. 2nd, The wood is pretty thick and sturdy. Don't think its solid wood, relatively sure it's pretty heavy duty particle board and vinyl. There is no steel to protect the wood from nails or ~creative~ teeth. 3rd, The quality of the metal is a major reason why we are giving it a low rating. Not only was Lancelot able to get his teeth into the spaces, he was able to bend the metal. The pictures show only 2 days of wear and tear. It's soft metal 😔. 4th, the lowest quality is the doors' locks (that's kinda the most important 🤦♀️). There are spring loaded locks ON THE INSIDE of the crate. No safety for them to not be jostled out of place. Then the exterior locks are flimsy feeling. It just took Lance a bit of freaking out from separation anxiety to jostle the spring loaded ones out of place and then add 70 lbs of force to get out. Et voila, we came home to a free husky. Basically, don't buy this if you have a baby that bites and scratches to get out as if you lit a fire under them. Spring for the 1.2k one. Highly suggest a Smonter for a calmer but still needs a heavy duty, but not 1.2k heavy duty crate. ... show more

My dog is an escape artist and has hated and broken out of every other cage we have put her in. She likes this cage and does not mind going in it. It's super sturdy and easy to assemble. She has not broken out and I love how it looks with our other furniture. Definitely worth the money!!

TL;DR: Really solid product! Excellent for anxious dogs. Works great for my Mal. Would be cautious with extreme chewers, or working dogs, as I could see one or two ways this crate might not hold up or pose a danger to them. My Malinois has really bad anxiety. Initially I was crate training her in a large wire crate, but as she grew she started biting and bending the bars — she even got the crate door open once destroyed the house. I was looking into Impact’s high anxiety crate for her, but the price point made it difficult to pull the trigger. This crate has the perfect par spacing to keep her from getting her mouth on it. That being said, the metal panels are welded together in the middle (so not one solid piece) and I could see a super chewer grabbing the seam and potentially hurting their teeth. The air holes are also large enough so if your dog tries to scratch them they could potentially get a nail or dewclaw stuck and hurt themselves. The lock for the main door is also on the inside, which makes me worry (because the dog has access to it and could easily break off/eat the smaller metal parts). Also, if your dog is off the wall, I’m not 100% sure how the wood panel part of the roof would hold up to a few good body slams. Other than that, this crate is a really solid option and fit my needs perfectly. The construction is top notch. My dog seems very relaxed and comfortable inside and it’s saved me hundreds (if not thousands) in furniture replacements and vet bills.
