The media could not be loaded. I'm in love with this little stove. I reviewed a lot of them on Amazon, and this one fit our needs. It has several settings for flame color and flame speed, low and high heat, and a "flame-only" setting which I love since it hasn't gotten really cold enough to use heat feature. OK, the good. It looks awesome! The ambiance it gives off is just great. The control of the colors, the light flickering speed, and even the brightness. All absolutely top-notch. The frame is very sturdy without being very heavy at all. Now the bad... The remote only works if you keep the doors open. When they are closed, it blocks the sensor. This is very annoying. And I do mean very! Also, note that the remote is not very responsive. Sometimes it can take a few presses to get the function working that you are trying to use. Now, what I was hoping to be able to do with it, I can't. And that's put anything on top of it. They show a picture of a cat, lying on the top. Another picture with books on it. No, you are not really going to do that. There are warnings everywhere to not put anything on it. I ran it for 20 minutes on high heat. The top front right middle area above the heater hits 138 degrees. The top center sits at about 118 degrees. The two ends are actually fairly cool around 80's. So the pictures are kind of deceiving. The heater does not have a thermostat so it's either on high, low, or off. It would have been nice to set a temp on it so that it could cycle through but it does not have that function. Just mentioning it in case someone wondered about that. So while I'm giving it 4 stars, In some areas it deserves 2 stars for poor placement of things. I've been looking for an electric fireplace for both the ambiance and warmth. This one fits the bill. It creates that rustic cabin feel I was going for. I like that it puts out heat, but doesn't get hot to the touch. This way, I can put stuff on top of it. My dog loves it too! Really, it was all about the look for me, but I definitely needed the heat as well. I wish it would display the temperature but there are just 2 levels of heat (warm or hot). You can change the color of the flames, but I prefer traditional red/orange over the blue yellow. It looks really cool with the lights off in the room and just the flames on. What makes it even better is that you can control it from the comfort of your couch since it comes with a remote! Also, about the size - I know they give the measurements on the site, but I usually just look at pictures to get a size idea. It's low to the ground, so you can always put it up on something like a pallet of wood. It's also not deep at all, so if you don't have a lot of space - or if you're putting this into a fireplace or something, it'll fit fine. This fireplace looks great and works very well too. It fits perfectly to where I wanted to install this at. It’s not very big as I thought it would be but it turns out this is just the right size I was hoping for. Construction and material of this fireplace is very good. The remote works very well.
