It has several settings for flame color and flame speed, low and high heat, and a "flame-only" setting which I love since it hasn't gotten really cold enough to use heat feature. Its a beautiful heater and looks great in our living room. The heat is either high or low and does not kick on or off by itself. It does have a timer. I wish I would have bought one with a temperature setting.

I'm impressed. If I has room for another I'd buy one more! I was very skeptical about purchasing one. I love the heat comes from the top of the heater and not the bottom. It feels much safer and it sure is pretty at night. Not cheap looking.

I have 3, and this one I love as the other two were a safety hazard to my dogs, the heat goes out from the bottom, and they would push each other fighting over who gets nearest to the heat source, this comes out of the top, so I don't have to worry, that they catch on fire, what a relief.
