I love candles and shop around quite a bit. I ordered Langston. Scent is warm and comfy… mixture of sandalwood , leather and vanilla. Sandalwood is the prominent note. The jar is pretty basic, nothing special. It’s pricey and I think if you shop around you could find equal quality at better price point. The Soi Co. has several great smelling candles like Cake For Breakfast that smell even better and are more affordable. Also Voluspa Cherry Gloss smells so good - also expensive - but I feel the beautiful decorative jar makes it a better overall deal. I save the jars and use them with other candles or to hold q-tips, pens etc. ... show more

Pros: The candle itself is absolutely luxury. You will not find this quality in a department store. The throw is exceptional. The scent is masculine. I have pets so it works. The quality of the candle is superior. I love the candle scent. Challenges: The gorgeous video marketing and Oprah Winfrey's recommendation makes the candle aesthetics (jar, labeling) seem higher quality than reality. The box packaging was nice but the candle label is coming off the candle jar. I think the company should invest in a higher quality labeling system or an etching machine at this price point. I also think the candle base (black glass jar) should be much higher quality and prettier. Better jars are at the dollar store. The jars need to be more elegant. More artistically aesthetic. The price should be around $35. I paid to support a Black Owned business and will buy all the candles in the line to support but I am paying about 20% for hype. If the jar and labeling improved definitely a $50-$75 candle. Nevertheless, I will be buying Lady next. ... show more

I ordered the Speakeasy and After Dark candles here both get a 5/5 for me! But the Langston I ordered from here seemed fraudulent or a fake. The box was cheaper, the card inside was cheaper and different, the candle had no scent and when touched it was soft and oily like crisco. I sent it back and ordered the Langston from the website and it was drastically different and higher quality. ... show more

Initially, I questioned purchasing a candle this expensive. I had every intention of being disappointed and returning it. However, the smell is so potent it fills my entire office & the hallway with the scent. Amazing.
