Leica should have made this. If you want to be able to do macro with your Q3 43 get this lens hood. Leica will never did get around to making one. And they will charge three times the price if they ever do get around to it.

The Leica Lens cap fits loosely around lens shade and just doesn't stay on. I guess that's why I lost it. This Haoge lens cap has some felt around the sides and fits snuggly on the lens shade. Nice product.

Not a Q3 lens cap. It is the older Q2 cap that barely covers the sun shade. The new Q3 caps are deeper and cover nearly the entire lens hood. They are far more secure. This older, obsolete, Q2 lens cap falls off easily. See accompanying photo with Leica Q3 hood on top and the off-brand Haoge Q2 hood on the bottom. ... show more

This fits better than the original in terms of being tightness. In fact, it was too tight that I opted to return in lieu of a rubber version to avoid scratching the hood. But if you're looking a better alternative to the original cap, this is the one for you
