  • Great Pizza Oven!
Style: Oven and Cover
Bought to replace another gas pizza oven. Heats quickly and produces great Za. Easy to clean. Only issue is the NG conversion. You have to decide LP or NG for use. The change to NG requires a hard to get to swap of orifices. It cannot be done quickly or easily. I was hoping to use with the RV. Would have been nice to have the adapter kit have the proper orifice built-in to the hose quick connect Chose to make it my home oven. ... show more

  • Works great, stone arrived cracked
Style: Oven
The oven stone arrived cracked, other than that it works great and fast, perfect for thin pizzas and brownies as well

  • Awhhh Yeah - Pizza!
Style: Oven
I'm a novice armed with the book Elements of Pizza. With it, I've made pizza a dozen plus times in the ol' conventional oven cranked to 525. Results were fine, but didn't quite hit the spot. I'd been eyeing pizza ovens for a couple of years and recently went down the Amazon pizza oven rabbit hole again. Lo and behold I found this gem. Oh man, I'm so happy with this oven (not so much my peel dismount skills). I've made 5 pizzas now on the Versa, two of which being happy little accidental "calzones" (i.e. messes). But let's break down the Versa. No issues: Packaging was great. Assembly was straight forward. Parts were well labeled. Instructions were clear. It functions as advertised. I'm glad I don't have to rotate the pie. I'm delighted with the double burner design. It heats up fast enough for me. I feel like I got my money's worth and don't regret the purchase. Heads up: 1.) Check and double-check that you remove all the packing materials. They did a great job protecting everything for shipping. I didn't have an issue, but people in a rush may forget to clear out the packaging toward the front, in the space behind the knobs and buttons. Just follow the instructions and look around. 2.) The knobs on the right and left sides, used so the rubber straps can hold the lid down, get hot. I'm not usually fooling around those while cooking, but I grazed it once. Not a huge deal to me, but, you know... heads up. 3.) It's probably an 80% me issue: Sometimes I wait too long (several seconds) between turning on the gas and starting the spark/lighting mechanism. In this case, there's potential for somewhat jarring baby explosion as gas builds up and ignites, especially by the bottom stone burner. I light it with the lid open as quickly as possible the moment I turn on the gas. Again, probably common sense. 4.) The lighter/spark needs a AA battery. It does not run off the power adapter. The power adapter runs the turning motor, which can also be powered by D-cell batteries. A potential bummer for some: 1.) It's heavy, large, and therefore awkward to handle. The instruction book explains how to carry and move it. In my case, it's not leaving the deck. I bought a generic cart and the matching Halo Versa oven cover for it, so I don't have to worry about manually handling it much. Verdict: Altogether, yeah, it's not perfect, but none of the things were deal breakers for me. I'm thrilled every time I use it and that feeling helps support a 5 star rating. ... show more

  • Great pizza oven as long as Neopolitan isn't your goal.
Style: Oven and Cover
I've now used my oven 4 times. It does make great pizza, of what you might call new york style. Thicker crust than neopolitan with more toppings. The rotisserie function is great, cooking evenly. There are a couple of detractors though. First it's heavier than my Ooni and harder to lug around. Second like the Ooni Koda I replaced it has no door you can close to pre-heat or cook faster. That's becoming a big issue for me because it is 16" wide and obviously the heat escapes out the front. It will not in any human time frame get up to 900 degrees. I've never gotten it much above 700 using an infrared thermometer. ... show more

  • Love it and you will to
Style: Oven and Cover
It is gorgeous! Gave away my pellet oven. The very 1st thing you need to do is buy an infrared temperature reader. My 1st pizza, #1 looked beautiful but crust was undercooked on bottom, the stone wasn't hot enough. The temperature of the stone is the most important to cook crust. #2 and #3 is my 2nd attempt. I got the stone to 700 degrees which takes about 20 minutes and comes out perfect (to me). I love thick crust and the heat makes the water in the crust just puff up. I think a 1# propane tank might not last for entire bake (it might, but I'd hate to lose the heat changing tanks) Get the Temp reader! ... show more

  • will handle 16 inch pizza trays and can make 3+ pizzas with a 1 # tank
Style: Oven
heats up quick, I stop the rotating to place the 16 inch pizza tray so it is centered on the baking stone, then start the rotation, 6 -7 minutes later pizza is ready; keep the oven temp no higher that 850 F otherwise the tray tends to twist/warp with the intense heat (900+ F) ignition and rotation work with batteries or hard wiring and it is easy to assemble. It is hefty though takes a bit of muscle to pick and move mostly because of the size and shape. ... show more

  • Best home pizza oven you can buy.
Style: Oven
Halo is frankly the best “portable” currently available. Thanks to its stone heating element, it’s the only one I’ve found that thoroughly cooks the crust. I’ve owned the first generation Ooni wood/gas combo prior to this purchase. I got “good” results, but the big miss was the crust; it never cooked the bottom well, even after waiting between pizzas to reheat the stone. Considered the Ooni 16, but reviews claimed similar shortfalls. Enter the Halo; we served pizzas to about a dozen friends who we’ve cooked for before on Ooni. Exact same ingredients, but they were all blown away at how much better the results were. My only gripes were the assembly was like building a child’s Christmas gift, and it could use independent controls for spin and stone heater temp (hi/lo/off) would be nice. Fix those and it’s a 5 star. But that should not deter you from spending the premium to buy this unit- highly recommend! ... show more

  • Great little oven
Style: Oven
I’ve had this for 2 months now. It works great. The only thing I would change is to have a thicker stone to hold more heat. Join the FB group for more tips on it.
