I have over 20 years of experience with this hobby. I picked up this truck for my dog to enjoy chasing. It was inexpensive compared to my Arrma cars so I don't care if he beats it up a bit. The size is nice. Handles grass very well. The speed is nice for 2s. The radio is a basher radio, but it has trim and dual rate for steering. Don't run 3s. No. Don't do it. With a 35 amp stock ESC running a 1/12 scale truck? If you want to blow it up, do it. I have a receiver and 55 amp ESC on hand that I'll be installing on my next day off. I'll be curious to see how the drive train holds up to 3s abuse on grass. Will update after upgrades. Update: the truck lasted five batteries on the 3s setup before stripping the rear bevel gear. It's a 2s truck. Until I can find some better quality gears and possibly diffs to swap in there, it shall remain a 2s truck. All that said, it handled the speed and bashing of 3s just fine, including a full speed cartwheel for a good 100 feet down the street. It's a great starter truck. Takes abuse well. If HBX starts using quality metals in their gears, or slipper clutches, or both...they would be a game changer. This truck was into the 40mph range on 3s. It Kept up with my brushless Arrma Granite just fine until it ate it's rear bevel gear. No matter. My dog loves chasing it and he doesn't care if it's only running 2s 🙂 ... show more

This was a christmas gift for my 10 yr daughter. She has played with the little $20 pocket RC cars but they are limited to smooth surfaces only. They get boring on the driveway bc they are so small. I had nitro powered stadium trucks back in the day and wanted something she can run around the yard. This thing rips! I am amazed at how much performance they pack in compared to what it used to cost me years ago. The most important factors to me: 1. AWD - offroad / yard capable 2. Sturdy drivetrain - metal axles all the way throughout 3. Durable - suspension is adjustable and forgiving 4. Speed adjustable - I can turn it down for her to learn without crashing or getting frustrated 5. Repairable - spare parts are available I spent a lot of time looking at options and landed on this based on it meeting all of the factors I was looking for and it was the lowest cost option to boot. It has a very stable stance and is easy to control. I also like the larger scale size to make it go through the yard better. She has learned to drive it very quickly and has already been turning the speed up. I know there are faster machines but this is a fantastic starter with 2 batteries and remote included. She has been out running it most days the weather is decent. She has given it a name and takes care of the batteries herself. I was preparing myself to buy a traxxas and couldn't be happier with this as a starter. If you are in a similar situation, buy this one and have a blast with it. You can spend more on a nicer unit when you decide this is going to be a more serious hobby and some of the crashing/learning is behind you. ... show more

My 5 year old son and I have been doing normal and crazy stuffs with this RC car. This is very responsive and so quick. After several months of bitting this joy truck to the limit, a couple of things got worn out and got damaged. I asked the manufacturer if I could purchase some broken parts. They sent us the parts for free. I feel like they have better customer service than real car manufacturers. ... show more

I use this to exercise my dog, he loves chasing and barking at it. Haven't bashed it around severely but it is holding up just fine. I like the oil filled shocks, makes for a much more controlled steering experience because it's not bouncing all over the place. It's great that it comes with two battery packs. If the battery starts getting low make sure you don't shut the remote control off and then turn it back on because sometimes the truck will get a false signal and start to take off out of control until you shut the remote off again. If you do shut the remote off, shut the truck off also do the startup sequence again. I don't have any young children around but the top speed control is a great idea for beginners. Zooms around pretty fast, fast enough for my taste. Happy with it so far, I hope it lasts. ... show more

Bought 2 of these for an Easter present for my twins. These things handle amazing with the upgraded shocks and are very well put together, although the body's are thin. I purchased these due to the upgraded parts and easily upgradable to 3s once the kids get used to them and find they need more zoom. Unfortunately I will be sending one back. It has a mind of its own. It will drive and never stop we have to run after it. It doesn't happen all the time just periodically. I thought the kids remotes where just crossing. But this is not the case my daughter and I went out alone with one car and this still happened. Hopefully Amazon makes this right because the kids really enjoy them. ... show more

On a recent vacation to the mountains, this truck took a nasty tumble down into a river (pic). I tried to catch it but slipped and broke the rear trigger on the remote. The river took the truck under the tree stump and I lost sight of it. I walked back to camp, confessed my sins to my wife 😂, grabbed her candles and went wading into the very cold river. I found the truck upside down 200 yards from where it went in. To my surprise, the lights were still on. I shut it off and Shook the water off, walked back to camp, grabbed the remote, set the truck down and drove ot for another 15 minutes! I have been thoroughly impressed by this truck. I’ve had it for 3 months and have put close to 60 charges on it. Battery life still seems the same. I’ve broke an axle and a wheel. Keep your wheel nuts tight and use a dab blue loctite. Speed seems plenty fast for what the truck can handle. I’ll buy this brand again. I have no complaints. ... show more
