This is exactly what i need for my occasional projects. Suggest starting with low amps. I was welding a crack in the deck of my riding mower. The charts I read online said 80 to 125 for a 3/32 rod. So I set it at 100 and started welding the crack with the supplied rods and I promptly burned a hole in the mower deck. The good news is I lowered the amperage to 81 and was able to weld and fill the hole. I continued welding a couple of other places with the amps set in the 80's. I should have practiced before welding on my mower deck. I agree with what others have said about the supplied glasses not being dark enough. I used a very old welding helmet that I have and is much darker than the supplied glasses. I did not use the supplied glasses, but each can decide if it is dark enough for them. I'm 79 and my hands are not steady at all, so my welding is not very pretty. I find I need to hold the welder with both hands to make a nice looking bead. ... show more

Drill is nice I just use it in the field. It works great for a quick spot weld and fix something on my tractor untill I get back to my shop it has got me up and going fast .. and one other thing I found out it would weld stainless steel in a pinch . Been there done that with it

I bought this specife 200 amp welder because a previous review said it had 2 gauge ground and stinger cables instead of the 4 gauge that come on most welders. Also it has a great ground clamp and a 500 amp stinger handle. Very nice. I tried the welder on 120v to start with. Not much success with 3/32 rod.. You can burn it, but lots of cutting in and out and sticking. I was using 110 stinger amps on a 120v 20 amp feed circuit.. Might be better if you had a 30 amp input, but MOST are not going to have that.. This thing pulls over 30 amps if your set a over 100 amp output. I did have some 1/16 and .075 inch rod and it worked will with that on 20 amp feed... Set to 240v input and 110- 120 amp stinger out put. Welds great with 7018 and above average with 6010 - 6011. VERY NICE ... I have a 7000 watt generator for "away" jobs, so i connected to that on 240v and same thing.. GREAT ... I would recommend this welder for the stinger / lead quality and performance and long as your using 240 v with the 3/32 rod.. Input power is 7 ft 240v cable with a 1 ft adaptor to get to 120v.... internally changes voltage by itself. ... I dont plan on useing the TIG function so i did not buy the OPTIONAL torch. ... show more

The Guozhi 200A LCD stick welder unit I got may be defective. The 120 volt imput performance was very poor and the 240 volt performance wasn't very good either. I had to turn amperage up to 140A to get an acceptable bead from a 3/32 6013 welding rod! My Guozhi 160A stick welder performs way better than this. I am returning this welder instead of exchanging it for another unit. ... show more

Right out of the box you see this welder is legit. 4awg leads (25mm2) where all the other Chinese lie boxes that say they are 200 but deliver 120 are 6awg. The leads are a real and usable length besides, at least 9 foot, probably 10, both ground and electrode. Besides that the clamp is real, not the cheap crap on the other five "200 amp" welders I tried. The electrode holder is also much higher quality. The power switch on the back is a legit breaker. Not just some cheap switch. As you can see from the pictures, this welder is OVER delivering on their amps. 160 out when set at 150, 220 out set at 200. I didn't get pictures over longer runs, so the over amperage is likely for hot-start, and then it would run at screen display amps. Ran a rod at maximum to trip the thermal overload, which worked perfectly. I thought I was just going to test some other fake claim and this Guozhi blew me away. This one is finally a keeper. Seems to me like this seller should break out the arc-130a welder they have also sharing reviews since that one accounts for all the one and two star reviews. This arc-200 is for real, and the price is completely reasonable, comparable in cost to all the other competitions amperage lies, for a quality product. ... show more
