The very sound and look of this fine Gretsch creation will make you want to free yourself from the damning confines of your office, your cubicle, or whatever it is that enslaves you and hop the next train to anywhere with a smile on your face as big as the sky and a song in your heart.Outstanding DesignOutstanding DesignThe G9201 has a non-cutaway bell- brass body with a V-shaped mahogany neck in a vintage semi-gloss finish. • wow, just wow!!
I have looked at this guitar for years. Played it at guitar center and while I liked the sound, I just was not sure. Well, one night I pulled the trigger, and I am happy I did. This thing plays amazingly and sounds like angels playing the bells. I really like the tone that comes out. I wish it had a pickup, but I got one picked out to get one day. The only hard thing about it is trying to find a case for it. After trying many different cases I will need to get the one Gretch makes for it that costs $200. I love this guitar and want it to last where I can pass on to my grandchildren. ... show more

  • Outstanding!
Came to me as a returned guitar. I played it and inspected it carefully. Not even a finger print. I was going to send it back if there was anything wrong. Sounds great and the action is perfect for finger picking. Could be the first recipient wanted higher action. Love it is so far and have a month to test her out. So far I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Excellent value
This is a formidable blues instrument. I had to lower the action considerably but previous reviews warned about that. It produces amazing volume. Brass body produces perfect blues sound.

  • Tone is different
I didn’t care for sound from the strings so I changed to flat wound 12-53. Now I like it. Also good to build muscle, (it’s heavy) all in all it has that Delta Blues sound which is why I bought it. Happy now.

  • Beautiful and heavy
I did not like this guitar at first due to the weight. This thing is heavy. However, I realized that as a guitar made of metal, it was bound to be heavier than my hollow body Casino. As I started playing, and after adding a strap, I grew to really like the guitar. It produces that unique sound that only a resonator can provide. I use it only for finger picking, but it would surely sound great for slide as well, if I ever have the patience to learn. ... show more

  • Very satisfied
The Honey Dipper G9201 is highly rated in countless resonator guitar reviews., so I decided to go for it. This guitar is amazing! The tone is awesome, and the guitar plays like a dream. The build is solid - no flaws - perfect in every way. I have played guitar for 50 years and own many fine instruments. This guitar stands out as one of the best I own. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. A+ ... show more

  • Beautifully made
I purchased this guitar after about a month at looking at resonator guitars. I wanted that deep swamp sound, and this thing delivers. I play mostly slide on it, and the tone is beautiful. I added a 12 Bar Blues Pickup to complete the set up.
