This is a solid investment to keep my small greenhouse warm. I will let you guys know how well it functions over a long time as soon as I know. As of now I’ve spent 4 nights outside with this thing testing everything out and it’s sick! Cooked and Slept in the open air in below freezing temps in nothing but my coat and thoroughly enjoyed it. My dog was cuddled up at my feet and I sat propped up against a log with the door open in my chest. Guys, it was an experience to live for under the cold starlit night and an absolutely beautiful way to start this spring. I plan to install it in the Greenhouse ASAP! The side window and the price are the reasons I picked this stove. I’m glad I did, it works just as advertised. It doesn’t leak smoke, pulls a nice draw that really rips when it’s fired up, the dampers work well and the side plates are sweet! Only thing I can say is one of the legs had a small issue. I had to use a lot of force to jam the pin into the open position, as the holes were misaligned by a small fraction. It still went in, it just took some Elbow grease. As of last night it seems to have settled into its place and all 3 leg pins went in smoothly. It was not a big issue that took hours to solve, it took 10 seconds of fiddling with it maybe. It was a minor issue anyone can handle. It’s not too heavy, it’s a portable stove. I would not go on long hikes with it personally. I’m sure a well seasoned hiker could manage it. It weighs about the same as a highschool backpack full of school books. The bag is convenient but not a high quality bag I had any expectations about for the price. My zipper zipped right off because it wasn’t stitched at the end. It still works to carry the stove, which also has its own independent metal handle anyways. The bag makes a good stick collection bag too, can lay it out and gather a phat stack of sticks, pick it up and carry it in one hand. Great for night collecting to free up a hand for a flashlight. This is the cheapest stove I found with a window and it’s well worth it. The window is awesome! Shipped with a protective foam pad in the stove to protect the glass which I saved and put back in when I’m packing the stove up. The stove functions just as advertised and holds a good airtight seal. Having grown up with wood stoves, I’d recommend this to anyone with a small space to heat up. Over all I am impressed with how well this stove works. Now, time to test how well it holds up for a year in New England! Ezy Tips: Get a razor scraper with a long handle to keep the window clean as creosote will dirty it up really quickly. A small hand spade makes a good ash shovel and fits in the stove. ... show more

  • Works great.
Size: Herd
Really nice. Sits nice and flat the 3 leg setup is decently sturdy and not wobbly Even has tent stake holes pre drilled in the feet. They were actually thinking when they designed this pack stove .. The Only issue I had. was insufficient flaring of the pipe with the draft door in it to get onto the stove easily . I don't particularly like the lack of elbow fittings so you'll need them separately .. The pipe is a bit snug it's thicker than most of these stoves and thus heavier even the pipe is thicker and heavier than most if you want one of these smaller stoves that will last quite a few seasons and you aren't worried about it being a little bit heavy this would be a good choice ... show more

  • Decent Stove, but could be better
Size: Herd
Purchased to go inside a tent 10x12 with stove jack. Stove performed well enough on the 4 day trip. Pros: The heat generated was fine for my size tent. The size is compact and not too heavy. I did appreciate the carrying case. I was able to cook and heat water on top with success, but you have to remember this is a non-adjustable heat source. Pipe provided was tall enough for my high roof tent, but very small for the jack opening. It needed a stove jack boot to help keep leaves and rain from falling directly onto the stove. Cons: Air intake at the front is Too Small, especially in the beginning when firing it up. You have to have the door open to get good enough airflow to get the wood started. Pipe is too small in diameter in my opinion. Because the door needed to be open for initial air intake and the pipe was small, smoke poured out of the unit through the door and filled the tent. This problem was fixed once the fire was going well enough to shut the door and use the air adjustment. I was even able to slightly keep the door ajar once the fire was going. The same issue happened time and time again. The other downside to the smoke is that the inside of the tent retained that smoky smell. One of the drilled holes that hold the side wings on was misaligned and I was unable to insert the screw all the way and secure on that side correctly which made that side unusable. Be sure to wipe down any water it might get on it. It will rust in that spot overnight.(assuming the box is cold when the water gets on it) So, overall it does work and performed decent enough. In the future, I'll buy one with a larger pipe and better front air intake. Not sure if I'm going to take it camping again. I might use it outside the tent if I do. ... show more

  • Tighter specs needed for top plate
Size: Herd
The firebox door is machined very well and there is no room to doubt that it is as airtight as possible. The top plate, however, has diameter 1/8” smaller than the seat it needs to fill. You can look down through the gaps and see the fire. The rapidly expanding, super hot and toxic gases, shoot through these gaps in a stream. See the pan that I sat over the plate. How much of that soot would you like to inhale. Anyone have a suggestion on how to seal those leaks? The three legged supports have pre drilled feet for wire sized tent pegs or screws. ... show more

  • Decent stove if you can get level
Size: Herd
My stove arrived where the legs didn't open where stove was level. Through some bending and filing was able to get level. Contacted company, able to price adjust. Like stove for the price. Burned well, like glass view. Drafts and heats well.

  • Broken welded leg and Epoxy I believe stuck all inside.
Size: Herd
Again disappointed I like the stove, took 10mins to unpack and figure out how to put together on instructions. Also someone spilled epoxy on the inside of the stove, really don't want to pack back up. Make me an offer to keep it. If not I'll try another one. Thanks for another waste of time and disappointment. ... show more
