3.12.23 so let me start off by saying, for the money, this thing is great. The handles are spring loaded so no noise/bounce when driving. Has strut to keep the lid open. Love that feature. Lightweight but pretty darn sturdy. Has weather stripping, only time will tell if it works.. No mounting tabs so it is up to you to mount it. Which is totally fine. My only complaint is: the key is not needed to lock it. Which sounds like it is not a bad thing. Well, go ahead and leave the key in the box by mistake, like I did, and wham. Locked out. Thank goodness I had to drill a 1 in hole in the bottom for wires anyway so I was able to retrieve the key (to be fair, my daughter does not have sausage fingers like her dad and SHE retrieved the keys). Dont waste your money on this product. I am very disappointed by the quality of this product. It is very thin walled, and it does not hold up to much! The only good thing is the spring loaded lock, I thought the clasp that was spring loaded was great, but I am not impressed about the other construction of this item. I would return this item if my window to return did not close, but that's what happens when you are gone. ... show more

Great for the price, nice latch and gas struts to hold open. Arrived in good condition but the packaging is only a thin cardboard box so I am surprised there wasn’t any damage in shipping. I’m happy and it was half the price of buying locally.

This box is so thin, I have doubts that it would survive a hammer being dropped into it. It is really light, probably less than 15 lbs, if that is what you are after. The welded seems on the top are not flush, so without adding extra weatherstripping, there is no way that it is watertight. The top does completely cover the sides, so it should survive rain, but condensation will be a huge problem. The lock adjustment is nice. You can tighten the fit, but with the gap in the top, it is going to require thicker weatherstripping. My biggest complaint is the hinge. First, the hinges are riveted on badly. Some of the rivets were loose and some were not closed correctly. Also, the top is flush with the back, so you if you mount it flush with a trailer wall or the sides/back of a truck bed, you can not open the top. Almost all boxes in this price range have the top recess a inch or two, so it can be opened even if the box is against a solid object. I looked at so many, and the pictures were not clear, so I assumed this one was (I know, my bad). But for this price, I would expect more. If you wanted something light and will not be mounted the back directly against something, this will do the trick. I think it would work well on a 4-wheeler rack. But, it is overpriced. Maybe for $60 or $75, but for $118, brick and mortar retailers have much better boxes. Oh, and the "Heavy Duty" in the description is really false advertising. I would call this the lightest duty of any aluminum box I have ever seen. I guess "Heavy Duty" means something else in China. ... show more
