  • Portable and Durable
Size: 50 Watt
First time I used it was for camping, I had it charging a Yeti Powerpack and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend to anyone serious about purchasing a portable solar panel.

  • 6 days of camping
Size: 50 Watt
I purchased the Yeti 200x to break into solar for camping. I paired it with the Nomad 50. The Yeti was smaller and lighter than I expected. The Nomad 50 charged it well, even on cloudy days or through the tree canopy. I added a 4 pack of lights, 2 crush lights, and 2 usb flashlights. It powered and charged wonderfully. 10 of us camped for 6 days with an rc car and drone, a laptop for a couple movie nights, and a few phones and bluetooth speakers for music. The Yetti never went below 30% and the Nomad 50 made short work, 5 hours of through the tree canopy charging. It felt good to camp without the cost and waste of disposable batteries. I am going to purchase a Boulder 50 to mount at my home and use the Yetti to power my modem and my wife's work from home 2 monitor work station in case the power goes out, she can still work. It is good to think that I captured the sunlight and used it later through the flashlights. Goal Zero knows what they are doing. ... show more

  • it worked
Size: 50 Watt
panels work as stated and easy to set/handle ,but would be even better with a handle. Plan on getting another fixed panel to attach and leave up

  • Plenty of Power!
Size: 50 Watt
I got this unit to keep personal devices charged while camping, hunting, hiking, at the beach, ect. I works great. Charges phones, laptops and other devices very fast. Plenty of power for my applications.

  • You need this if you have a solar generator.
Size: 50 Watt
Wow. This item rocks! I can use this one item to quickly recharge my Yeti 150, 200, or 400 without the need to combine my other 3 panels. The price was excellent. The performance and portability are excellent.

  • Great equipment for emergency purposes
Size: 50 Watt
Great, works instantly once exposed to the sun. This would be a great emergency power source outdoors or in case of power failures.

  • This is the most GoalZero thing ever
Size: 50 Watt
I’ll start with the good on this panel because there is some valid reasons to use it. First is that it’s sturdy for a flexible panel. I’ve had loads of flexible solar panels and found most of them were either not very functional, or not sturdy enough to be practical. The Nomads (I have this 50 and a 20) are both durable and practical. In addition, the rated wattage is not a complete lie. You can actually get within the ballpark using Nomads if you’re really good at positioning. Oh and being able to connect multiple panels together for more input is cool. That’s assuming you can afford more than one panel. Ok so now why I got this panel and afterwards the negative. When I go camping (no hiking, camping) I use an Alpicool C12 for my cold items and I was using a Rockpals 500 power bank to run it. It just never quite made the entire weekend and you can’t charge the bank while using it. So I switched to GZ because you can charge while discharging. The Nomad 20 I already have for charging my Sherpas still didn’t provide enough recharging to get me through. I was torn between getting another Nomad 20 or getting a Nomad 50. I went with the 50 so as not to lose my 20 for Sherpa charging. I have not been able to test using the fridge for a long period of time yet, but if my math is correct, I should be good. Ok so now the bad. This panel, like all GZ stuff, is insanely overpriced for what you’re getting. Over $2 per watt is insane. Also there are panels this size producing more real wattage for fewer dollars per watt. That’s even considering overestimation on the part of all the other companies. This panel is part of the GZ proprietary ecosystem. This reduces its usefulness if you don’t want to look like a GZ fanboy. Honestly though most people will either go all GZ or no GZ. I use them for certain applications where the features outweigh cost. Long and short is this panel works fine, but costs far more than it should. Minus the cost, it’s a 4 star item because of size and weight for wattage. You can find lighter panels which cost less and give more power, but if GZ features (like charging while running the inverter) are important, you may eat the cost to get those features. The choice is yours. ... show more
