Bought this in April - now, four months later I actually got a chance to try it out.. Unpacked, and first thing noted that one of the leg assemblies was 180 from what it should be.. OK, five minutes wasted with wrench to change it to match the other.. No biggie.. Plugged it in to the camper's receptacle and checked the monitor.. Blank screen. Nuthin'. Swell. Checked cords, checked everything I could find. checked voltmeter - it seemed to generate what it should.. Now, I'm a newbie re: solar, so I called tech support. I didn't know that a working battery was needed for the unit to operate. Checked volts at the camper terminal - 7.5V.. Support sez it needs more. So I changed the fitting to attach directly to the battery. NOW I got a "POL" reading.. Support said the wires might have been reversed at the assembly plant. Swell. Replaced the camper plugin with one of the supplied battery plugins. Long story shorter, it worked when I reversed the position of the battery clamps from red/red-black/black to red/black etc.. Then I got a reading on the controller panel of 14.2V.. Ergo, check assembly upon unpacking/unfolding the unit. Be handy with a good voltmeter so you can check things (plugs/terminals etc) as you go along.. But it does put out what it claims to put out. No fault of the unit if the camper plugin's weird, but at least the GoPower unit comes with 3 types of connections which is a real plus there.. ... show more

It’s worth every penny… I have 2 batteries on my camper running in parallel. I always have power during the day and i am able to travel with out having to hook up to power and minimize my generator hook up during the day.

I placed this order using Amazon, it could not be shipped to my PO box, so I had it shipped to my parents house (as my house is impossible for delivery people to find) thinking it will ship UPS or Fed Ex... funny thing, it shipped through U.S. Postal Service... WTH? I received a notice that an attempt to deliver was made but was unsuccessful. I was at parents house prior to said delivery attempt and i never saw the mail delivery vehicle, soooo I drive to the Post office where I get my mail, went to the counter and asked if it was out for delivery, the counter person went back to a pile of boxes and brought my order to me... go figure... strange! I got home, opened the boxes it was packed in, unlatched the solar panel, opened it up and noticed one of the small plastic covers on one panel had fallen off. I snapped it back in place then carefully inspected everything else, all screws and rivets were in place and secure. the only other thing I noticed was the Black (-) wire from the solar panel that attaches with a set screw to the voltage regulator/controller was not even held by its set screw!!! I cut the wire tie and was able to pull the black wire away from the regulator/controller. I loosened the screw (which was tightened to NOTHING), twisted the bare wire to gather up the stray strands, reinserted wire and tightened the screw, and checked the others. I pointed the panel to the sun, took a voltage reading and happy to say that it works and I don't have to deal with the hassle of sending it back! Now I'm ready to try it out with my travel trailer. This thing is touted to be one of the best, I love the sturdy feel of the integrated folding aluminum case and the nice "soft zippered pouch" "Come on MAN"... If GoPower is going to put their name on this and charge a heap of $$$$ for it, MAKE SURE THE GOONS THAT PUT IT TOGETHER DO IT CORRECTLY! Quality control... ... show more

WOW! This system we bought last week to use on our travel trailers (singe?) battery, group 27, performed flawlessly! We are new to the "RV" life and purchased a 33 foot trailer with electric everything! Which included a tv, super slide, awning, electric tongue hitch, and all the obvious, outlets, lights (LED), microwave, ect. Well I never knew how power hungry we were until we took our trailer out for the first time and my 2 year old wanted to watch a dvd while eating her breakfast. My wife and I have the coffee maker going while the furnace is warming up our ice cold trailer prior to our fishing trip. Go figure, our battery died! Like I said "Brand new" to the rv life. Well as most experienced rv folks know that when your batt dies even your generators are pretty much worthless with the stock charger onboard. So I needed to figure out what needs to be done in order to my girls happy :0). I went solar! I did my home work for weeks looking at inverters and multiple battery options along with chargers and so on and so on and so on, my brain hurt! and then I found the "WYNNS" (if you were like us lost in the dark after the rv sales team made there deal then do your self a favor and find the Wynns) who explain everything when it comes to rv POWER! Solar power! Its unbelievable, we got our 120 watt Go Power portable system and I honestly pulled it out of the box, unzipped the very well made carrying case and unfolded the panels. I clamped on the positive and negative jaws to my batteries terminals and off we were pulling in clean energy charging my battery. My batt was at 2/3s charge which isn't very good, close to spiking amps and blowing fuses but even though it was overcast within two hours the battery was at 100%. We are sold! and for folks like us that bought a trailer or want to buy a trailer to camp with and don't want to be plugged into rv parks then spend the money and go solar! Within the next week or two we will be boondocking (dry camping) on BLM (Bureau of land management) with GO POWERS 480 watts kit on the roof top along with the 120 watt portable GO POWER folding unit producing a total of 600 watts of usable energy! Unreal, all from the sun, why are we all not using this natural resource? Anyhow thanks Go power after this relaxing weekend of camping you have proven yourself and we are forever faithful and a life changing solar power family. ... show more
