  • Fantastic Workhorse of a Scooter
Color: Red
I ordered this for myself to get around after a leg surgery, and it has been wonderful. Setting up was fairly straight forward and instructions are included to show how the scooter works and all the parts. I do wish that there were directions on initial set up though. The battery does not come attached and you have to lift it and connect it to the scooter to be able to charge and use the scooter. I wasn't aware of this and tried to charge the scooter without the battery connected and initially thought I had a defective unit. Likewise for the seat. The seat cushion is firm and it was easy to attach the arm rests, but I have not yet figured out how to make the height adjustments since it doesn't really budge after I put it on according to the instructions. I am pretty short so it works for me, but taller folks would need to figure out height adjustment but I just wasn't able to figure it out from the instructions. The leg area is roomy and I can put an extra bag there to carry groceries in addition to the basket attached to the scooter. There is also a hook in the middle of the handle bar to hang more items. The scooter itself is well made and sturdy. It is simple to use. You just turn it on and use the dial for three speeds - low, medium, and high - and pull on the lever (you can use the levers on either the left or the right sides) to go. The max speed is around 5-6 mph but I usually use the low and medium speeds which are more than suitable for my needs. The scooter feels zippy and efficient. I have to say that the braking mechanism takes some getting used to since it can feel a bit abrupt, especially at faster speeds, and I kind of get jerked forward when I release the lever to stop. The LED light at the front of the scooter is nice and bright and illuminates objects in dark conditions well. The horn works well too and the overall sound on the speakers are nice and loud. The turning radius is on the wide side but I haven't found it to be too much of an issue getting around, but it does take a little more effort to turn around when I am in a crowded area. The battery lasts a long time - it's supposed to around 25 miles on a full charge - and I don't really have to worry about it while I am out and about. I charge the scooter overnight to make sure that I have enough power throughout the day and there are six bars showing you just how much power remains. Overall, I think this is a really nice scooter for getting around. It's not the best of all scooters out there, but for the price, this is a great scooter that lets you get in and move about with ease. It has been a godsend for me as it allows me to move about and do daily tasks, and I'd recommend it to anyone that is looking at mobility scooters. ... show more

  • Heavy; moves smoothly; horn and light feature; seat swivels
Color: Red
The media could not be loaded. This mobility scooter is very heavy. What I like: -- it operates well during the times I've used it while out on our street. The scooter moves forward, in reverse, and turns - all without noticeable interruptions to movement (i.e. no stalling). When going forward, there are options for low, medium, high, walk. note: in Walk mode, I hold the lever, and then - while sitting in the scooter - use my legs to move the scooter along. -- 2 keys are provided, so it's nice to have a back-up key. -- there is a horn. -- there is a light to provide light for the front of the scooter. Light can be turned on and off. -- no extra tools needed for assembly. What could be improved: -- We don't have a large, spacious car; so, we cannot put this scooter into our mid-sized car. Of course, we could dis-assemble the seat and arm rest, and then the scooter fits in the car. -- the instructions in the user manual were not as clear as I'd like. For example, it took me time to figure out how the battery works. I really had to pull up on the handle (battery is heavy) to lift up the handle. Then, there is a cord that needs to be plugged in. There is no place to put the excess cord length. I just put the battery back in place and the cord is now squeezed against the battery. -- installation took some time. 1. To put the seat on to the seat post, I needed to sit on the seat to help push the seat in. 2. One of the arm rest did not fit well into the scooter. I had to keep pushing the arm rest in, until I finally got the arm rest to go in. The other arm rest fit smoothly. -- The manual says, "....seat height can be adjusted by the latch on the seat post...". Once I put the seat on the scooter, I could not figure out how to raise it, or to lower it. Adjusting the latch lets me move the seat to the right or to the left. -- The red areas (at the front, and at the sides) are plastic, and are not as sturdy as I'd like. -- I cannot lower the volume. The scooter makes a sound as I first start the scooter (reminds me of a bell ringing). Also, every time I go in reverse, a voice says, "..reversing, caution please....". I would prefer to lower the sound when I first start the scooter, and prefer not to have the voice announce "...reversing, caution please..." in loud volume for all to hear. Overall, if I needed a mobility scooter at a value price, this fits the bill. As long as I prioritize VALUE. ... show more

  • Easy to set up! Works great so far!!
Color: Red
I got this Glashow Mobility Scooter S1 for my family member who is still in the hospital (should be getting out any day now!!) and they NEEDED a mobility scooter to help get around! They have yet to test it out since they are still in the hospital (I will absolutely come back and update my review once they get out and use it for a little bit). But we put it together for them. Super easy to put together. Pretty self explanatory but directions do come with it. It seems like it’s made very well. Very stable. Doesn’t go TOO fast but fast enough to get around! The speed of it and how fast it goes from 0-6mph may vary depending on weight. Battery life seems great so far!! Definitely will be able to cruise this down the boardwalks this summer without worrying about it running out of battery! Again, once my family member is able to test it out once out of the hospital, I will come back and update my review on how well they like it. But for now, it seems like a really well made mobility scooter with lots of functions and bells and whistles! ... show more

  • Fantastic mobility scooter
Color: Red
This mobility scooter is amazing and perfect for the elderly who are no longer able to move around as much and have trouble getting around. This brought a ton of excitement to my grandpa who absolutely loves it. The scooter is comfortable to sit in and has all the features you may need to use it and recharge it. It feels sturdy and stable without feeling like there's any danger of it topping over. The main downside to the scooter is that it is quite heavy and doesn't really have the ability to be folded up to take up less space. It weighs in at over 100 lb. There are similar scooters that are significantly lighter and can be folded up but if those are not important to you then the scooter would be a great option. ... show more
