This is the second Giraffe garden hose I've purchased in the past couple of weeks. My first one was 50 feet. This one is 100 feet. So far, I'm impressed with them both. They seem sturdy and well made, yet they are reasonably light to carry around. They advertize that they are "kink-free," and that may be true ... with a little help. When you are first unrolling the hose, make sure you untwist the various inherent turns/circles from shipping--because these will cause kinks in the hose. Once that has been accomplished, it does appear that these hoses are "kink-resistant," if not "kink-free." ... show more

I bought this hose 2 years ago to get me through winter. I like to keep a hose with me in my car so through Winter to keep it from freezing so that I always have a hose to fill up the water tank at the farm. I loved this hose so much that I bought another one for the house. It is easy to roll and unroll. It is good about not kinking, and if it does they come out very easy. It's really flexible so it's easy to roll up and doesn't get stuck wanting to roll up only one way and inevitably ending up knoted anyways. And it's lightweight which is a plus. ... show more

Adequate. Working so far. I thought with that really high pressure rating in the description, this would really be heavy duty and have a heavy duty feel to it. On the contrary, kinda lightweight. So far - I bought this hose last summer - it seems like the hose itself is excellent quality. That said, I cannot fathom what possessed Giraffe to choose such an ineffectual design for attaching the hose connectors. The rubber of the hose gets indented from the plastic gripper ring that gets screwed down (the ring with the little teeth - see photo) - that's how the connector gets the grip to stay on. However, moving the hose around (the stationary hose end attached to my leader hose, at the bottom of my hose pot, has not had an issue) gradually enlarges those indents, until their shape smooths out, allowing the ring teeth to slip free. Then, of course, the hose end pops off (typically in a dramatic fashion, drenching you, or flooding your flower bed when it pops off your drip line). You then need to cut the hose to establish another set of indents, which is simple enough, but this process repeats itself so often that you're rapidly burning through your hose length. I complained to Giraffe when this first started occurring, thinking maybe the gripper ring I received was defective. They could not furnish me any replacement rings, so they offered to replace the entire hose. I accepted this alternative, but kept my original hose in service as a secondary hose, buying an Orbit brass replacement hose connector and installing it. That hose has now been in service for months with no more issues. The replacement hose, though, simply presented with the same flaws in the same timeframe, and upon closer examination I realized it was a flaw in design. So I've had to replace the connector for the replacement hose, too. By replacing that connector, I've lost the function of having a shut-off at the end of the hose: something I paid extra money for. It's not worth paying for that upgrade, because the Giraffe hose connectors are useless - they didn't even serve long enough to get appreciably worn. ... show more
