I have fine hair and was amazed at the volume this brush produces! I wasn’t sure it would work for my length of hair, but the knobby bristles hold the hair on the brush. It cuts down drying time and it’s very efficient and effective by having the brush and dryer all in one. The tool is slightly heavy, but it’s not a concern since drying time is reduced. This thing is a powerful tool that cuts drying time down a noticeable amount. It heats up quickly but doesn't feel super hot on your hair, if that makes sense. It does a great job of drying long, fine hair very quickly. Not sure how well it works on thicker hair, but it leaves my hair soft and shiny. It is very well constructed and feels sturdy, albeit a bit on the heavy side. The case is heat resistant and has an elegant appeal to it. I was very eager to try this GHD Blowdry-Hair Dryer Brush because I have been hunting for ages for a blowdry brush that would allow me to forgo my rather pricey weekly blowout appointments with my hair stylist. The promise of "no heat damage," "more volume, shine and no frizz" all packaged in a very sleek beautiful looking appliance hit the bulls eye for me, even though it has a very expensive price tag of $400.00. But, if it did everything it promised and I could replace my weekly professional blowdrys at $55 a pop, then it would pay for itself pretty quickly. Let me start with the PROS. I love the clean sleek look of this hair dryer brush. It is very nice looking. I love that it is incredibly simple to operate because it basically just has one setting: on/off. It heats up very quickly and lets you know it is ready to use when it stops blinking. I love that you can use it on wet hair and you don't have to dry your hair at least a little before using it. It does dry my fine hair quickly and it works really well at straightening my hair so well that using a flat iron afterwards is not necessary. It definitely adds volume, lots of volume to my hair as well. I also feel like there is a bit of a learning curve to using this brush because I seem to be getting better results as I use it more often. Which brings me to the CONS. The instructions that come with this brush are pretty minimal and basic. I found myself doing my own research on the Internet trying to learn the best way to use this brush to get the best results. Maybe if you aren't a beginner in this area then you don't need more instruction, but for those of us who are relatively new to the game, more instruction/directions would be helpful. Or maybe it is just a matter of getting used to using this brush because as I mentioned earlier, my results are getting better each time I use it. I will say that this brush is relatively heavy, although not so heavy that it's a problem. What I don't like is that the bristles on the brush hurt my scalp. You really don't want to bang your head with this brush because it will hurt. There is nothing soft on the bristles to keep you from feeling the hardness of the bristles. Of course, this may also just be because I have fine hair. I imagine it wouldn't be an issue for someone with thick, coarse, or lots and lots of hair. I also wish there was more information or at least some information to substantiate the claim that this hairdryer causes "no heat damage." I cannot find anything that explains how this is possible when it obviously uses heat and it does get hot. There is only one setting - on and off so you don't get to choose how hot it gets. Maybe the brush "knows" when it is too hot? I don't know and just wish that there was something that explained how it is possible to use heat (hot heat) and not damage the hair. I also wonder why they also sell a heat protectant and volumizer separately if this brush is supposed to not cause any heat damage and adds lots of volume? Is that for use with their other products? Not clear to me. The elliptical shaped barrel of the brush works well, is easy to use and it really dries hair fairly quickly. I do find that my hair is softer and looks nicer when I use this dryer. I guess I need to continue to use this brush to see if I will be able to replace my hair stylist or not. So far, the jury is out and I am still going to keep my appointments. But that just might be "me" and my ability to wrangle a hair dryer and not the hairdryer itself. When I do my own hair, I am definitely reaching for this hair dryer and just keeping my fingers crossed that the claim of "no heat damage" is in fact real and true. I plan to update my review as I get my experience using this brush. So far, so good... ... show more

This is so nice and easy to use. I’ve tried it with damp and almost dry hair, I prefer the damp method. It’s easy to turn on, one mode makes it less confusing to use. It dries and styles at the same time and leaves my hair super shiny and soft.

I've tried a few blow dryer brushes before, but never one this expensive, so I was excited to see how it compares. And it's beautiful! I was immediately struck by how hefty it feels compared to others I've used. It also comes with a beautiful pebble leather bag to keep it in! I was surprised that the controls were as simple as on and off, so there's nothing really to learn. And it works perfectly. It's not too loud and it doesn't throw my hair around, so it definitely came out less frizzy. It still needed a little tidying up afterwards, but, compared to others I've used, I definitely noticeable a lot more volume and no visible heat damage. Overall, I'm a fan!
