I dont know if this makes the best expresso but i will say this, after recently switching the brand of pre ground coffee i would buy, my brevielle bambino did not have enough force to extra the coffee throug the grinds. The water would back up in the machine and gush out when i would remove the portafilter. I put the same coffee on the gevi and no such issue. I also like it has a pressure gauge to help troubleshoot. The media could not be loaded. I actually adore this little machine. I took some time to check reddit barista and coffee pages before purchasing as the price seemed too good to be true for a quality machine. I have had it for over a year now and use it every morning to make 2 lattes for my partner and I and it has held up very well and pulls a great quality shot of espresso. Some tips are - make sure your grind of espresso is correct, you may have to mess with this a bit to get a good shot. Experiment with what beans and milk work the best. I was highly impressed with the steam wand pressure for the size of the machine and have found that aldi’s oat milk steams wonderfully (my wimpy stomach can’t do dairy) Make sure you’re keeping the machine clean - between actual cleanings I usually run a shot of just hot water through after both coffees are made. As long as you take care of the machine and play around with coffee grind - you will have a true coffee shop quality espresso drink right at home. Now for the only tiny downsides - the handle of the portafilter is plastic, this is honestly fine it just seems a little cheaper than the rest of the machine. The pressure gauge is an estimate at best in my opinion, don’t take it too seriously but aesthetically it’s very cute. ... show more
