Works well and have owed this for 7 months now. Purchased to help keep Covid virus spread lower in the air. The optional on/off UV light appears to have mitigated its spread helping to keep others from getting sick. Granted, enhanced hygiene measures, masks, and cleaning with antiviral products contributed to the success we experienced. However, it was again successful when used another time for a lesser illness. As for the Hepa, it works very good. We have pets and the air is noticeably cleaner. The fan speeds have a wide range. When highest, it is loud with the sound of air movement — but pretty much all hepas are loud on the highest setting. Otherwise, it’s decent at medium and quiet when low. Only drawback is that it would be nice to dim the operational light for nighttime. One thing to note is that while it moves a lot of air, don’t expect a fan. The air output is diffused for even flow. It seems to pull air from the front and back and air also exits from the front. We would recommend this product. ... show more

Slim design fits in a room without being bulky or very noticeable as far as size goes. I have the tall and short machine. It is loud such like a fan on medium/high when it is on its high setting. I've set mine on power 3 (which is like the medium setting) and it seems to do the job. This is why four stars but these things are going to make noise but it becomes ambient. I have it in my master and my kitchen next to the rabbit hutch. It has cut down the odor from kitchen garbage and rabbit liter box exponentially. Also im not seeing things flying in the air when I sweep such like before. I have two dogs as well and dust has been cut down. Cuts down dander. About the smell: After a week with full garbage and rabbit liter pan, the smell before air cleaner was an 8/10 as far as those smells progress as the week goes. Once using the air purifier it is a 2/10 after a week if i did not exchange the liter pan and have a full garbage and/or dirty dishes. Definitely worth the money and I think it is very fair priced. I did not skimp on the filters as with any nock off it compromises the efficiency of the product. Used in open floor plan about 750sq. Ft with single rabbit and two dogs that use the laundry room as their space which is also open to kitchen/living room. Single women house hold, one kiddo in country. ... show more

My 3 year old has a lot of environmental allergies, including cats and dogs (we have one of each), as well as pollen and grass so having windows open in the nicer months isn’t so great for our kiddo. We’ve been using this air purifier for 8 months now and it has been working so well. The filter picks up so much stuff from the air. We notice a difference in our kiddo when his filter needs to replaced vs when it’s relatively new. The unit itself if pretty compact and easy to move around. My kid likes to keep it on the loudest setting so it acts as a white noise machine for him too. I’d say this is a good option for someone with environmental allergies! ... show more

I've had my GermGuardian for about 6 months now, so I think I've had enough experience to write a review. I have allergies to dust, mold, and mildew - they cause sinus issues and migraines for me. Prior to getting the GermGuardian (and making some other changes, which I'll outline below), I was getting 5-7 migraines a month, each of which lasted for about 48 hours, and I constantly had a stuffy nose. After running the GermGuardian in my bedroom (about 2 feet from my head at night), I've only had 2 migraines in the last six months. In addition to the GermGuardian, I've purchased dust-mite proof pillowcases, clean and dust my bedroom thoroughly every week, and wash all of our bedding on the allergy setting each week. The combined effect of this is a MUCH happier mom/wife! A couple of things about this unit: -I have never noticed any plastic or chemical smell coming from it, as others have reported. I smell EVERYTHING, so I don't think my unit is releasing any oder. -On the other hand, I don't notice any reduction in odors in the room because of this unit. It seems to simply eliminate particulate matter, not odor. -The filers are very expensive - I just paid $60 to replace them. I'll have to do this every 6 months, because my filters get filthy. -This thing is pretty loud, in my opinion. I keep it on the second lowest speed and it's not too bad, but on days that I clean my bedroom I turn it all the way up and it's really loud - not as loud as my vacuum, but almost. I don't see how anyone could sleep with it on the higher levels. -The "filter reset" alert is LOUD and annoying, and went off at 3 am when we were all asleep. All in all, this was a great purchase for me. I'm saving to get one for my son's bedroom, as he has mild allergy issues. I would definitely purchase again. ... show more

Quiet performer, adjustable fan speeds and great at keeping the dust to a minimum. I live in a very dusty environment and have an earlier model in my bedroom. These machines keep the air clean and have the perfect neutral background noise for sleeping.
