It was working flawlessly for its first 15 hours of operation. After its first 15 hours, it shuts down every time it starts up.     • Goes into overload at lower than advertised specs
Really wanted to like this generator, and waited patiently for a bit of a price deal (on Prime Day), but unfortunately it simply cannot get my RV's A/C running (single 13.5 BTU Mach 3, which runs at 13.3A, and never an issue on a 30A shoreline circuit). The generator overloads and pops the breaker at the quick 33A peak spike during A/C start-up. Aside from the RV converter, no other loads. I'm well below the 7250/6000 specs, using gas and using the 50A outlet in full 120v. Just doen't support the specified max current ratings. Was able to gradually break it in using smaller loads (varied from 7A to 25A), starts and runs fine, no issues there. But obviously something isn't right if it can't even handle a brief A/C start-up surge. The unit itself arrived clean and very well packed, no damage anywhere. So I'm thinking there must be something wrong with the inverter or circuitry inside the unit. I reached out to Genmax, they quickly answered my first call, and I spoke to 2 people there. They were going to check with a product engineer and call me back within 30 minutes, but that never happened. Tried calling back later in the day, and ended up stuck on the automated system. So like some of the other reviews here, they don't follow through as promised. I reached out to Amazon to see what to do next, as I never heard back from Genmax. Amazon was great, and initiated a full refund (seems they cannot accept returns for generators). It's too bad I received a faulty unit, as I researched this model and it seemed up to the task; but it doesn't speak much for quality control. I was expecting to use this on an upcoming RV trip; but since it won't power the A/C, I'll have to either find something else fast - or use my much louder open frame non-inverter genny (one of the main reasons I purchased this Genmax was for advertised low noise).     • A SOLID performer at a fantastic price, all things considered.
I own multiple generators, from Generac to Champion and others. I bought this generator to run my RV and have it still run when the AC kicks on. As you may know, a generator might can run an RV AC but it might not can handle the initial current spike required when the compressor kicks on. I bought this generator to solve this problem as the 4500 Champion just couldn't handle the spike. The Genmax did quite well handling the current spike and running incredibly quietly the rest of the time. The instructions were clear and there were a few clever design ideas built into the unit I didn't see in others. One is an oil drain tube that prevents spilling of oil. The second was the inclusion of a small funnel that fit perfectly into the oil reservoir allowing me to fill it without spilling anything. The propane adapter included is high quality and easy to connect and use. The switch that handles the switch between gas and propane is easy to read and understand. The unit ran smoothly and without vibration throughout. Although this unit is more powerful than my 4500 Champion, it weighs the same. The extension handle is sturdy and can be used to pick up one side when moving it. Not all generator extension handles are that sturdy. Overall, I find this unit to be a fantastic deal and is well thought-out and built. ... show more

    • Nice unit, but louder than I had hoped and no support after part broke
[Update 7/1] Customer support reached out and sent me a replacement part! The part arrived today. Adding a star because I do like the unit. Overall, I like the look of the unit, it is sharp, and compact. After adding fuel and oil, the unit started right up and the noise level of the motor is good, it is quiet, *BUT* - the surrounding plastic, and especially the plastic handle, rattle and create excess noise, negating the quiet motor! Making the unit far louder than it should be. Unfortunate. The price seemed right with the $200 off coupon. I got the unit, opened up the side panels to plug in the battery and add the oil. During this process, one of the plugs that holds the side cover on broke off. (handle side - where you have to take the cover off to add oil) This was disappointing because you have to remove side cover to service the unit! Not a great design choice, but Genmax replaced the cover! I haven't really stressed the generator yet, I am still going through the 5-hour break-in. I have run it for ~3 hours and coming up on 4th oil change before really stressing it. ... show more

    • Works well and very quiet / top one for me
Very quiet, works well and seems well built. Just started using and so we will see how it handles this season opf tailgating. Will be used for for 10-15 hours each home game this college football season. Easy to move around with telexcopic handle. Just not sure how to use it for lifting the unit. Not sure if it is sturdy enough to pull it out and lift that side with it or not. The other side has a stationary handle - very sturdy. Might just leave the handle in all the way and use, is a bit tougher to get a grasp on it that way - we will see. I did study all the different generators on you tube for days - comparison videos etc. and I landed on this one as the best for me. So far very happy with my purchase. ... show more
