I ordered these shades based on pictures and the review of others hoping that I would also be a happy customer and boy… was I wrong. Part of my order was missing, the parts had dirt on it, when I opened the shades it had marks on it and to top it off it was wrinkled. I don’t understand how all that dirt could have gotten on the blinds bc it was well packaged. It must have been a manufacturer issue? I am beyond disappointed in the quality and will be returning. The top of the sharp, plastic brand packaging shattered a bit inside the poorly sized shipping box, and those sharp remaining plastic edges frayed the edges of these blinds a little bit. I ordered the 52-inch wide blinds, but it looks like my windows are too small by about a quarter of an inch. This is probably my fault, as I tried to hold the measuring tape on my own, and there must’ve been enough slack that I didn’t get a perfect measurement, so I assumed that because it looked spot on that windows and their accessories are likely fairly standardized in their measurements. Anyway, if I had sized down to the next available size, those blinds would’ve been way too small. So, I still wanted to install these because I’m tired of not having blinds in most of my windows, so we installed them on the part of the wall that’s right above the window rather than directly into the window’s alcove. Unfortunately, the instructions aren’t very clear. We’ve never installed blinds of any kind before, so clear instructions were important to us. Regardless, since my husband has experience with other kinds of household repairs, and because his brain can work out things like this (while mine has much greater difficulty), he was able to install them in what appears to be the correct fashion. I probably would have failed if I were left to install them on my own. Now that they’re up, they do look really nice and perform as intended. On this window, these completely remove the glare that was hitting my TV during daylight hours, so watching scary movies in the dark is now do-able. Pulling down on them, I’d say they feel to be of medium quality. I’ve definitely handled ones that feel cheaper, and I’ve handled ones that are clearly superior and therefore much pricier. These feel somewhere in the middle. They pull down and push back up with ease, and everything stays even along the way. I like the optional pull tab that easily slips onto the bottom bar of the blinds where you might otherwise grip them. I’m pretty short, so I still can’t reach it, but I plan on crafting a cute extension to hang from the pull tab with translucent, colored beads that will catch the sun and look very pretty when it’s in its default “up” position. Overall, I think these are very good blinds for the price, and I would definitely get more if I had the money. ... show more

I've installed this on our kitchen window. The fabric material is good, design is good, hanging hardware is easy to install and well thought however I'm not keen on rolling mechanism, fells to me like it wont last long especially if you are not gentle with it.

    • Good Job of Blocking the Sunlight

I have guest bedroom that receives the morning sun. I previously used honeycomb material/paper shades at each of the bedroom windows in the house. Since this bedroom only has one window, I thought this would be the right place to try this light blocking cordless shade. The installation was easy. The blind itself though thin did indeed block the sun except for a thin strip on each side. I did find two minor issues. First the blind wants to remain curled at the bottom end. I tried to weigh it down to help straighten it out, but that hasn't happened yet. I have just pulled the blind farther down so the curl touches the window sill and blocks light from entering underneath. Next ,I tried to change the upper stop limit according to the directions. The blind continues to roll all the way up so the handle goes behind the shade. The handle could still be reached, but I just couldn't change the stopping point so the handle would be a little more accessible. When I tried to change the stopping position, I have now made it more difficult to have it roll up by itself. I just quit for the time being and will try again later to make these adjustments. All in all, the shade does what it says it would do which is to block most of the sun for the bedroom. ... show more

This is a decent roller shade that fits as expected, but I'm not sure the control wheel mechanism that moves the shade up and down is going to last. It's a metal chain on a plastic spinner and it's a little sticky to get it going. Once it's started it goes up and down pretty smoothly, it's just that initial tug that makes me feel like it might break itself. It also squeaks, which in my experience, is never a good sign right out of the gate. When I first lowered it, it also had some obvious "ripples" in the fabric, probably from spending its whole life rolled up, but that relaxed after leaving it lowered for several days. The bottom bar is pretty light, so it doesn't lie flat against the window frame like I hoped it would, but for the price point, a weighted bar is probably a big ask. I would call this an entry-level window shade. It does what it's supposed to do, but I'm not confident that it will be durable or long-lasting, especially the hardware. The blackout works well, but the other downside of this shade is that the mounting brackets are such that when the shade is installed, there is a 2-inch gap from the top of the window frame to the top of the roller shade, which lets a significant amount of light through, at least if you're doing an inside mount. Overall, if you need a budget shade, this works well, and if it breaks after a year, at least it's not expensive to replace. ... show more
