We recently purchased and installed the GenieBidget in our household to replace a slow-close toilet seat that had a defect. We already had bidet attachments from another brand equipped on several of our other toilet seats (when the other vendor was installed, quality non-electric bidet 'all-in-one' did not exist) and I was interested in finding something with a cleaner look versus buying a wooden toilet-seat with an add-on. After researching multiple brands, I found that reviews for the GenieBidet were consistently better on average than the more common household names. The GenieBidet also included a T adapter (this is a must in my opinion for anyone installing a bidet) so cost-wise this was a much better value. The slow-close feature works when both opening and closing, the water pressure is adjustable, and the design of the shield/nozzles is a much better design than the other brand we utilize (easier to clean, shields better, tucks away better).     • Just what I wanted

Quick and easy to install. Took me all of maybe 10 or 15 mins to remove my old toilet seat and install the Geniebidet. All I used were channel lock pliers and a flat head screwdriver. No leaks after a month of use thus far. One thing I'll note is I ordered the elongated seat and it might take a bit of getting used to because the width is a tad thinner towards the front than the rear. That being said, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I really like how seamless the bidet is integrated into the seat, the bidet functions exactly as expected, and the seat itself feels sturdy to sit on.     • Installation was more difficult than I thought

I am editing my review because I wanted to try again before returning because I really wanted to have a bidet and thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I am definitely not a plumber and this experience showed me I should not be. The company did not contact me at any point to edit my review and I was going to be able to return it even though I had tried and initially failed at installing it. The round seat fit my round toilet perfectly and is comfortable to sit on. It feels like a normal nice toilet seat, way nicer than the cheap one that came with my apartment. I really like the slim knob and that the bidet is built in to the toilet seat instead of a big bulky attached unit with an arm that sticks out. Installing the seat itself was pretty easy once I figured out what was going on although be prepared to do some squeezing in to small spaces if your toilet is in a small area like mine. The first time I installed it, things went downhill when I turned the water on and it started leaking everywhere! No matter how much tightening or loosening I did all this unit did was spray water all over the bathroom. I uninstalled it immediately and put my basic toilet seat back on. I decided to try again a couple days later because I really wanted a bidet and I didn’t know if another model would have the same issue, plus this one already came with metal connectors and all the hoses I needed. When I took apart the toilet the second time, I noticed that the rubber gasket on the original hose was different than the one that came with the bidet. When I replaced the cone gasket with the original gasket and put the rest of it together like normal being really careful to screw everything on correctly, I turned on the water and it worked beautifully! I’m deducting one star because the product is definitely not idiot proof and nowhere in the instructions or anywhere online did it mention to check the gaskets and I had to figure it out by myself. Definitely make sure the toilet connector is right if your home has a weird toilet like mine. ... show more

This non-electric bidet works well and is easy to operate. It is limited to using the water temperature of the cold water in the home which in some cases can be chilly. It also operates whether there is someone sitting on the seat or not so water can spray into the room if someone is not sitting to block it. There is a convenient water shut off which prevents accidental spray into the room should a child play with it.     • Why did I wait so long

The seats arrived on time and they were very easy to install. We live on a septic system in a rural area. They not only work extremely well but a roll of toilet paper lasts forever now. This is great for septic systems as paper takes the longest to break down. I would also say that in my last house which was on a sewer I wish I had these because not only do you drastically reduce paper use but it is just plain cleaner and sanitary. This bidet was easy to install, works great, is not noisy, and functions as one piece. It has two streams - forward and back that start gradually and can be turned up as needed. It is well designed, fairly easy to clean and the slow close mechanism works great.
