  • Fantastic
Color: Camouflage
Just went camping with a friend in Wisconsin. He brought his giant mansion of a tent. All of his gear packed my whole car. I brought one backpack. Initial setup was difficult at first, but once you figure out how the poles go through the sleeves it's quick to get ready in a pinch. I'm a 5'8" guy and I fit very well inside with some head and leg room to spare for clothes, shoes, and other belongings. There was some condensation on the interior in the morning, a little damp, nothing too bad. I'm a shorter guy, but to me it's surprising how much bigger it actually feels on the inside rather than from the outside. This thing stands lower to the ground than a picnic table. Very discreet, compact, and lightweight. There's an air vent by the head area. The top flap can be left open with the interior screen still closed. ... show more

  • Great emergency individual tent for backpack.
Color: Camouflage
Bought this for my husband (he just had to have it). He wanted it incase he ever got stranded and had to make the track home without his truck . It is perfect for his back pack & other supplies one would need incase of emergencies. It’s made good and held up to 35 mph winds and heavy rains no leaks or tares . ... show more

  • Three season hooped bivi bag.
Color: Camouflage
I like everything but I haven’t tried it in the rain. It’s pretty light weight. I like the hoops, the bug net, the ventilation and the camouflage. It has directions but they weren’t very clear about how to arrange the hoops at the head. I’am lucky I didn’t break a hoop. I had to search on UTube to find out how to position the hoops. Sets up pretty quick. Zips on the side so that it’s pretty easy to get in. ... show more

  • Awesome Bivy
Color: Camouflage
Day 7 in the field zero complaints. I bought silicone spray and sprayed it twice (drying in between sprays). Heavy rain two days later bivy stayed completely dry. Not sure I needed to do that just an extra precaution I guess. I needed small, light weight and durable and got all three. If you’re claustrophobic don’t buy it, if you’re gonna complain there’s moisture build up and you keep the bivy completely closed up- don’t buy it, key word hasty. Buy a regular tent if those apply. If you need fast shelter, on the move, light weight, plenty of leg room (I’m 5’11” 190) and wide enough you don’t touch the sides this is ideal. It has pockets at the head for say a little mag light, cell phone, glasses etc. The foot end of the bivy has enough space you can take your boots off and store them there out of the elements. This is perfect for a bug-out bag or if your military in a unit where they don’t force you to use the “issue shelter”. Ok the moisture part- sleep with the screen zipped and the tent unzipped. You may get some moisture but nothing like what you’d get with no air coming in if it’s cool out. If it’s cold out and you didn’t bring enough clothes or a sleeping bag zip it up, deal with the moisture and you’ll at least be warm. You’ll still be dry and bugs won’t be on you, my two important factors. Anyway, great price, extremely happy with the bivy and at a fair price. Fast shipping. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • fits a niche that doesnt really solve any sleeping needs
Color: Camouflage
I took this on a camping trip backpacking in the mountains. The first issue was that the poles are sized a little long so it was difficult to fit in my bag, any way but vertical in the main pouch. It happened to rain quite a bit on the trip and I assumed that this tent would keep the rain out, but it did not. My entire sleeping bag as well as anything in the tent got wet. The rain seems to sit on top and slowly drip through the material, most of which happened to be directly above my head between the crossed tent poles. It was like getting water tortured with it dripping on my face all night. This could have been solved with buying and applying DWR spray or putting a tarp tented over the bivy tent, but at that point, why not just sleep in a bag under a tarp tent? There is no way to close the air vents on cold nights (not that this tent is thick enough to be warm anyways), as the fly above the vents must be pulled taught to give the tent form. There is also not enough room to get to your foot area (to adjust sleeping bag zipper, etc.) without opening a majority of the top of the tent. Which isn't an issue until the weather outside the tent becomes bad. It made me wonder why I picked this in-between sleeping solution over a traditional tent or just a bivy sack. All in all, this is a decent tent for dry, warm weather camping, if this design is what you are looking for. Based on material thickness and quality, this tent should be in the $40-50 range. This isn't a tent I would rely on in rugged conditions again. For me, it didn't fit in my Eberlestock bag anywhere I wanted to put it and I would have been better off just taking a tarp and some paracord to pitch overhead of a nice sleeping bag. From sizing to comfort, it just doesn't do anything well and is mediocre at best on everything in a design that doesn't really fulfill any needs. If this was waterproof and packed down smaller I would forgive more of its flaws. ... show more

  • Doesn't keep rain out.
Color: Camouflage
This didn't keep the rain out. The flap on top doesn't even have any velcro to keep it pulled over the zipper. The night it didn't rain the condensation on the inside at 55 F was really bad.

  • Lightweight & compact
Color: Camouflage
I recently bought the Geertop bivvy tent from Amazon (although I could have also purchased directly from the Geertop web site) and I am extremely pleased with this item. An estimated delivery time provided by Amazon was 24 days but the parcel was delivered in under two weeks. The first thing that stood out for me was the weight and size of the bivvy - despite having read the specs I was completely surprised at how light and compact the actual package was. Of course I immediately erected the bivvy and here again I was impressed at how easy it was to pitch and at the amount of headroom provided inside. Without reading the instruction sheet (attached inside the storage bag) I had the tent erected in double quick time; especially important if pitching in wet weather. ... show more
