This grater makes quick work of shredding veggies and cheese - it's a big time saver over using flat or box metal graters. Everything is plastic aside from the grating cylinder, and feels quite solid. There's a base with knob-activated suction base, the slide and lock in grating housing, the metal grating cylinder, lock-in handle, and an insert to push food items down to the grater. Everything slides into place easily, and locks in solidly. Parts do not move around once assembled and with the suction base, it remains stable and in place on a solid counter. The grating cylinder is sharp and food items are quickly grated - far faster, and safer, than using other typical metal graters. There are three cylinders - shredding, slicing, and fine grating. Easily interchangeable. Disassembly is easy as the parts unlock and slide back out. Cleanup is simple for the large pieces. There is one opening in the base of the grating chamber which can collect and hold water when cleaned in the dishwasher, depending on how it's arranged on the rack. Not a deal breaker for me, but something to keep in mind when unloading to keep the water from spilling out onto other items in the dishwasher or onto the floor. Wow! Where has this been all my life? I have always disliked purchasing packaged shredded cheese due to the fact most add flour (and other ingredients/chemicals) to keep the cheese from clumping. I used the old stand by cheese grater, but that was both cumbersome and time consuming. Now this arrives and I immediately am thrilled about shredding my own cheese. It contains 3 different blades for what type of cheese you would like to shred (or vegetables for that matter, it does not have to be just for cheese!), a base, a handle, and the main compartment. It shreds the cheese so quickly with little to no effort with the handle. I really only have two reservations. The first is that sometimes the cheese does not fully exit the blade. Meaning it gets stuck inside of the blade while rotating. It is an easy fix, I usually just have a spoon or butter knife to guide the cheese out ( it appears to be the softer cheeses that have trouble not accumulating in the blade). The other reservation is that the base that houses the cheese grater blade and the cheese grater blade are a little harder to clean. The dishwasher does a decent job, but the plastic base does take a little more effort to clean. But overall, I am so happy with this product. If you want to rid yourself of that dry, chemically tasting packaged shredded cheese, then I highly recommend to begin to purchase blocks of cheese and the Geedel Rotary Cheese Grater. I bought this because I couldn't find a hand held unit like my old one. That one had a very small grater hole size that made almost perfect grated cheese -- small very finely pieces. It broke and I started using one that my wife had. It was ungainly and made thicker pieces of cheese. And it was almost painful to squeeze for more than a minute or two. I got this one and it's pretty good. It sticks to the counter very well. It chews through a large piece of cheese extremely quickly but the grate on the cheese is still pretty large and not terribly fine. I can get through a 8 oz. piece of cheese within 30 seconds or less. That's about what we use in a week. The device itself is nicely designed: easy to assemble and take apart. The grating wheel is sort of flimsy so if you're grating a hard cheese , it's best not to press to hard on the feeder. Because the grater wheel will deform slightly. Cleaning it is a bit of a pain in aß. The clear plastic main housing needs to be cleaned by hand. The grating wheel harbors some residual cheese. All of which needs to be manually removed. Overall, I like it because of its speed and relative ease of use. It's kind of large and when assembled takes up quite a bit of room in a drawer or cabinet. The extra grating/cutting wheels are nice but I haven't used them yet. I wish that there was a finer grating wheel to make a. more finely grated cheese. But overall, I'm happy and my hands don't ache when I have to grate any cheese. ... show more

I use this for a cheese grader. The cheese bought in the stores in a bag that is graded has a substance around the cheese so it won’t stick. I like being able to buy a big block of cheese, grading it myself, storing it and knowing it is not coated. It is a money saver on cheese and also makes my cheese graded at home healthier. I it easy to use, easy to clean and doesn’t take up a lot of space for storage. Would definitely recommend or give as a gift. ... show more

I have zero complaints about this product other than it taking up a bit of space in my cabinet. It’s not exactly the most compact tool but it worked like a charm. I tried it with both mozzarella and Parmesan and had both blocks shredded in just a couple minutes. It is very easy to assemble and the suctioning mechanism worked great with my smooth quartz countertops. I make a lot of pasta, and grating cheese on out old grater took forever because of how flimsy it was. This grates cheese so fast lol I grated the exact amount I needed in probably 5 seconds. For me and the counter i have, the suction works perfectly, be sure the counter is clean and dry and you are holding it steady when and where you are trying to attach it if it doesn't work for you the first try. When the cheese you are grating gets smaller it can get wedged a bit between the blade and the side of the blade guard, just stop for a sec and adjust it so you don't put too much strain on the crank. It feels like it is good quality, easy to clean, take apart, and use. I personally hand wash it just incase, but I imagine you could put it on the top rack depending on how new or old your washer is. ... show more
