  • Great product with 1 Hiccup
Pattern Name: Soft Fold Size: 5' 10" Bed
Ok, let's go over this cover. Arrived 1 day ahead of schedule, so that was great! The construction seems sturdy, and the material is thick enough to last some time. Installation is pretty straight forward, as they have a video available right here on this listing! It's light enough that 1 person can install this as it only requires lifting it across the front of the bed. At worst case, just set it in the bed and place it from there. Placement went simple enough. Not rocket science here. I've seen some folks post that they didn't like that it didn't follow the contours of the new style beds. I have no complaints. Front latch hooks are easy to install, just don't over tighten them. You could possibly warp the cover rails. The instructions can be a bit vague about this. When they say to tighten til the clamp touches the bed rails, do they mean snugly? And then 2 full turns. I did mine snugly, then 2 turns. Please note, in the Written Instructions included, they have a warning! If you have a bedliner, or a rail cover (as the 2019 models do), to ensure the clamps are tightened to the metal bed, and if required, to cut a small piece out of the liner/rail cover to allow proper clamping to the metal bed. It clearly states this. Otherwise, the cover will eventually blow off! I see this has already happened in the comments. The front latches. Here's where the hiccup came into play. As you see in the photo, even with the cover fully forward, the aft latches will only connect to the Bed Rail cover. They needed to be moved back to connect to metal. Uh Oh. Quick call to Gator, and Jake answered promptly. Explained the situation, he asked for some photos which I sent. They also answered promptly here on Amazon. You can actually move these latches to any position. With the following steps as indicated in the photos. 1) Fold the back section. If you look at the clamp You will find a self tapping screw. If you remover the screws from both sides, you can slide the latch/bar assembly. At this point, note that Gator stated you can disassemble that entire section. Then flip it over and have easier access. I took the lazy way out as I didn't feel like fighting with the cover. It's like ultra high strength weather stripping which is a pain. 2) loosen the screws all the way out with a long Phillips. Not an easy task, but persistence pays off. Note the the assembly still will not slide until the screws are fully removed. This created an issue as there is absolutely no room to get to them, except the bottom. So.... 3) jury rigged a tool using an old set of feeler gauges, drilled a hole in the end large enough to fit the screw, but small enough not to slip over the screw head. Put a bend in it, and slipped it under the assembly. A little pulling and turning of the screw and it pops right out. 5) I marked original position of the assembly, then slid it forward a whole section length. Checked for fit. It engaged the metal bed rail, but was touching that metal hump, so I slid it another 1/4 inch. 6) Marked center position where the screw goes into slot. Checked where original screw hole was. Moved assembly out of way. 7) Drilled a couple of tap holes. Probably best to put the screws in and tighten them just to break in the new holes. 8) Slide the assembly into place aligning that bracket slot with your mark for the new hole. Now, that screw will not fit in that slot. It goes in underneath, so I used that home made tool to hold the screw til I could get it started. It is a pain. I'm not sure if they are even necessary as some folks state that theirs slide freely from the beginning. I can't see them needed for strength, as there's really no tension on the latches when closed. All in all totally pleased with the cover and the support that was given. I'm not sure if it was a glitch at the manufacturer, or a change Chevy made with the bed. Regardless, the issue was solved. ... show more

  • Nice little cover
Pattern Name: Soft Fold Size: 5' 10" Bed
I have had this cover for a couple years. It has held up through this time and has done exactly what it's supposed to do. Great value for the money, fits on the truck well. Keeps the rain out and keeps everything covered.

  • Great value
Pattern Name: Soft Roll Size: 5' 10" Bed
So I've had this installed for about a month and a half now and so far, I'm quite happy with it overall. With that said, It's not completely weather proof. It doesn't seem to let rain in via the side rails or even where it butts up against the tailgate, however at the opposite end (that runs perpendicular to the rear cab window) seems to be the leak point. At each corner of that end where the rubber "flap" gasket goes over the bed lip it's great coverage, until you get to the corners. That flap seal ends up going up and over the plastic rail covers that run lengthways of the bed and creates quite small gaps, which allows for rain to get in quite easily. Now with that said, it's not a LOT. Even with getting some decent downpours, it only lets in enough water to fill about 1 regular sized water bottle if I had to guess, so it's not terrible. I'm sure that with a bit of slight modification you could pretty easily get this issue resolved by blocking those 2 gap points. All other seals work great. I've got this on a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 LT Trail Boss crew cab with the 5'8" bed and electric release tailgate. The tailgate release does stick a bit sometimes (especially if on a slope that is going against the release) however it's not bad. Sometimes you may need to give it a slight bit of help to make it drop, but for the most part it still works just fine, and again, I'm sure I could make some minor adjustments to resolve this completely. I very much recommend this cover if you're looking for something of solid quality and reliability and ease of use but on a smaller budget! For me, my truck is a lease so I can't justify getting a $600+ cover. This works great. ... show more

  • Excellent Cover - 2nd Time Purchase
Pattern Name: Soft Fold Size: 5' 10" Bed
This is my second cover. It’s awesome. Sold my old truck that had the first one. Looks good, fits excellent. I love how it has built in seals all around. Just make sure to clean it at least twice a year or more. It keeps it looking nice. I had my old one for like 4 years and no cracking or seems busting loose. I highly recommend this cover. ... show more

  • The best budget roll-up
Pattern Name: Soft Roll Size: 5' 10" Bed
USA made! I've installed three of these now on either my truck or a family member's truck. Easy to install (most all tonneau's are) and just a great price when on sale typically during black Friday. Not 100% waterproof at this price point. If you require that, spend more money on a waterproof system. I've installed more expensive covers that didn't work as well as these Gator ETX. Close with a positive and audible "click" every time and don't hang up in the heat. Won't buy anything else. Note: These are RealTruck's brand of tonneau covers. They do not mfg them, but have them made to their specs by tonneau cover manufacturers. ... show more
