  • Yes, Induction compatible!
Size: 40 QT/10 GALLON
6 gallon batch Homebrewer. I bought this because it was finally time to upgrade a pot that was too small. But I was nervous because I had gotten used to using my 240v induction cookplat for boils, and knew that if it was too wide or not a good enough material that it would not heat. I assembled today, leak checked the thermometer and valve with water, then let it hit boil. Small volume boiled almost instantly, so I'm sure I'll get good results at larger volume. Valve will be very nice for transfers - no more lifting - and the volume markers are a huge bonus compared to my last one. It's very reflective. I mean this thing is.... weirdly shiny. I won't mark a star off for that but if you're that particular about the aesthetic then mind that point. ... show more

  • Good, functional brew kettle
Size: 32 QT/8 GALLON
I haven't boiled a batch with this kettle yet, but I have it set up and ready. First impression is that the steel is a little thin, especially at the bottom where the valve attaches. When turning the handle on the ball valve you're tempted to use two hands because the kettle gives and flexes a little at the base of the valve and it feels like you're going to bend the kettle. That could be partly because the ball valve is new and very tight. The ball valve and thermometer seem to be very good quality. The ball valve feels super tight, well-made and pretty much bomb-proof. The thermometer is accurate within one degree out of the box when tested against two other good thermometers. It is adjustable if you need to fine tune it, via a screw on the back of the display housing. The kettle is supposed to arrive with four red, silicone o-rings, two for the valve, two for the thermometer. Mine only came with three, so I wasn't able to install the thermometer right away. An email to the seller had two more o-rings on the way the next day. Good customer service there, and I was happy. I'm just getting into home brewing, and I plan and hope to be doing it for a long time. This kettle is going to work great to get me up and running. It looks great, and the tri-layered bottom looks perfect. I can see myself upgrading to something more expensive and more heavy-duty in the future (there are a lot of kettles out there, some are five or six times the price of this one), but this kettle should be good for dozens of five-gallon batches without a problem. I'm happy with this purchase and I'm happy with the customer service provided over the one missing o-ring. If you're getting into home brewing, I'm going to say this is the kettle to buy. I also ordered the Gas-One propane burner upon which to impart heat to the kettle, and thereby, the wort. The burner is also a solid product, very strong and well-built, and should handle boiling many batches of wort. "Brewers make wort, yeast makes beer". Happy brewing! ... show more

  • Homebrew
Size: 64 QT/16 GALLON
Nice kettle for the price. I use it for all grain home brewing nice and big came with no dents. Dosent leak and I can fit a lot of gains un this the only downside is that it's pretty thin but what would you expect for the price, would definitely buy again if I had too

  • Decent pot, good value
Size: 64 QT/16 GALLON
Used for homebrew. Arrived with dents due to thin box it shipped in. Disappointing but the dents are cosmetic only with no observed rusting after two brews. Pros: -The kettle bottom is thick and provides even heating on my propane burner with no scorching on high heat. -The valve installs easily without leaks and has held up to two brews. -It holds and heats wort! It does what I want at the best price I have seen for anything comparable. Two successful brews under it's belt with more coming. Cons: -The sides are quite thin. Certainly thick enough to hold the requisite liquid,. But it does give a slightly lower quality feel to the whole kettle. The walls are thin enough to flex slightly when the valve is opened and closed. Although I wonder how long the silicon O-rings will last with the flexing when the valve is used. -Side handles are welded on and the welds discolored/balckened the walls inside the kettle. I don't trust these welds to hold the full weight of 15 gallons of liquid. I lift 7 gallons using the handles but I would be afraid the welds would break if I lifted more than 10 gallons. -The lid does not fit correctly. It is slightly oversized so does not seat onto the kettle. Overall I would recommend this product to somebody looking to upgrade their brew setup to allow easy 5 gallon batches and the option of 10 gallon batches. My wort doesn't scortch anymore, the bottom is flat and induction capabel and the stainless steel appears to be a higher quality (easier to clean) than my turkey frier pot. Just understand that this is not a $300 pot that is bulletproof. Edit. It has been two years and around 20 brewed since I got this pot. There are no issues at all in use and I still recommend it. Some cheaper stainless that I got around the same time has some surface rust. This pot is of high quality steel that has retained it's stainless properties. The valve gasket has also held up to dozens of heat cycles. I still recommend this pot as an inexpensive option. ... show more
