I was disappointed in how thin the walls of the plastic is made. You have to be careful or it feels like it will break. The ale yeast that came with the kit would not ferment after several days in my temperature controlled brew room so I had to use my own yeast I had bought for another brew session. Yeast expired November 2023. Ordered beer kit end of January 2024. Tried it in hopes of it working. It did not. I had to buy new yeast.

It includes everything I needed to start a batch, just not a fresh batch. The yeast had expired in November 2023 (I ordered it in June 2024). After getting fresh yeast, I started a fresh batch. The kit also requires you to provide your own boiling vat (which was not a problem for a small 1 gallon container like this). The instructions are clear and concise and are very clear about cooling the liquid completely before pouring into the fermentor. That is because the fermentor is a hard plastic, rather than glass. I am a little concerned about BPAs, but I know I'll also be storing this is a cool dark place while fermenting. I'll have to update after my first batch is ready. ... show more
