The seal on the original cap wore out and began leaking air so it caused a "warning light" on the dash. This was a simple and inexpensive replacement. It has been in use about one year and is doing fine.

    • CEL came on after install
Doesn't work in my 2014 Honda Odyssey. Only was replacing the OEM because the tether was broken. Once I put this on I got a fuel cap error. I tightened it more and that error went away. But a few days later the CEL came on for P0455 and P0456 which is commonly due to the gas cap. So this one is going in the trash and I will spend the money for an OEM. ... show more

UPDATE: after a while it gets harder to turn this gas cap making me waste my time at the pump just trying to force it open. Maybe it's just the cold, idk. The plastic tether's circular "O" part that holds this cap captive also seem to have a rough surface (or just too tight) because the cap turns while dragging the "O" around with it until the tether runs out of slack. It's only in this taught condition that the tether pulls itself from getting dragged around by the turning, which then probably add to the difficulty of opening the cap. This would have been normal if not for how rough or tight the tether's "O" part holds onto the cap. ------------------ Only needed to replace the original gas cap for 2013 Civic because the tether got cut. No fuel or gas cap issues being detected by vehicle. ... show more
