Great for beginners!!!!! I received mine today and have never used a detector before, read directions (skimmed). Watched a YouTube video and went in backyard to try. Wife found 2 pieces of aluminum while I was still setting up the pin pointer. Found 10 penny’s buried about 6-8 inches, a big metal hook, an old bottle cap and a nail that was buried ~9 inches in first half hour. This thing is awesome. A lot of fun. I bought this as a backup for my ACE 350 and for my grandson to also use. I like the number readout and the discrimination. I have found more coins and several tokens with this detector. I am still getting use to the numebers and sounds. The coil protector is annoying because it collects a lot of debris on the top and inside which requires cleaning out while hunting I have dug a lot of pull tabs but then they are treasure to a friend. She saves them for her grandchildren's school. All and all This was a very good buy. Garrett does make quality detectors at a decent price for all types of hunters. ... show more

I might have given it a better rating if the instruction manual had been worth a darn. Before you use it watch a couple of videos on YouTube and your experience will be better.
