Great - sturdy when full. handles make it easy to move them. 10 Gallon big enough for large tomato vine like Better Boy. Each holds ab out 3/4 of a 55 quart bag of soil. It's beginning of summer, no no idea if they will survive the heat and water. Even if they deteriorate, they are relatively inexpensive to replace. The only practical way for me to grow tomatoes, peppers and eggplants on a 10ft x 12ft patio in a retirement community. Unknown-- will they last or fall apart? ... show more

Just got these and was a bit disappointed when I went to fill them. I have been growing in 5Gal buckets and decided I wanted to try something a bit nicer. I thought that if I ordered the 5Gal grow bags they would hold roughly the same amount of dirt as the buckets. nope. they only hold about 2/3 the amount of dirt. They seem well made and sturdy, but not quite the size I was hoping for. I still plan on using them, but I will probably get some of the 10Gal ones for larger tomato plants. and maybe the 20Gal for some Rhubarb! ... show more

This year I decided to grow fruit and vegetables on my patio instead of flowers. These containers are fabulous! As others have mentioned, they're surprisingly easy to move around once filled with dirt. I had a party and it was simple to move these to the side of the house so they were out of the way. I've got lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries, bush beans, bell peppers and yellow squash growing. I'll order more next year once I make sure that these stand up through the growing season and over winter, but for now I am extremely happy with the purchase. ... show more

Worked great to bring plants in or move them if bad weather. Be mindful that the bags cap the length of roots. We planted tomato plants, a pepper, and a broccoli and got some harvest from all. We had to be careful with watering but I don’t think it was enough root space for the broccoli, or soil ran out of extra nutrients. But works great overall. A neighbor gave me a few clippings from her yard, and I knew it was going to be a brutal summer in Texas, so didn't want to put these into the ground yet. I put each plant into one of these planters and, man, they've thrived. They're huge now, but I can still pick them up, move them, rotate them to make sure they get even exposure to the sun, etc. They also drain well, so I'm not worried that the areas under the denser plants are molding. I'll probably buy a few more. They've been a nice "nursery" for me to baby the plants until they're strong enough to fend more for themselves in the ground. ... show more
