In my experience, rubber hoses last longest--we have a couple that we've used for at least 25 years. However, this PVC/polymer hose is light, easy to carry and easy to roll up for storage. I suspect that the "brass" connectors are actually an aluminum alloy (scratch test reveals a silvery color), but they look solid and don't leak. We can use this 25 ft. hose as an add-on to reach the farther corners of the yard. The multi-pattern spray head is a nice bonus. I would consider this more of a medium duty hose. It feels reasonably durable but is not in the realm of some of the truly heavy duty hoses I use around the farm. The hose is as bright blue as it appears on the photographs. It is medium weight - and the surface texture almost feels like silicone -though not quite as soft. The ferules (the black plastic surround near the connectors) are very loose - and slid down while I was looking at the hose. They will not provide the protection that they should. I may use silicone glue to fix them in place - but a new hose should not need to be altered to use. The spray nozzle is light weight and virtually all plastic. It is too big for my hand so I will probably not be able to use it. I do appreciate the extra rubber washers that were included. ... show more
