I have a very large garage, and I was looking for something to take the chill out of the air during the winter months. I am in SouthEast Louisiana, so we do not get super cold in the early winter months but this past weekend I did get a chance to test it. I'm disappointed with the results. So it got down to the high 30’s low 40 this past weekend and I had turned on the heater to test if it can keep the garage from reaching freezing conditions. I know I have exceeded the space this heater can cover at 1200sf but I hoped it would do just a bit better than it did. I aimed it at the pipes carrying and holding/filtering the well water for my house, ( the temp dropped to 39 degrees overnight). The next morning I eagerly opened the garage and tested the temperature of the pipes and tanks and to my dismay they were not warm at all. I think this heater will do much better in an insulated house or room that is much smaller than my big garage. I am not marking this as negative, but wanted to make sure anyone who is looking to keep the chill out of a large space should look into a different heating system as this one by itself can not accomplish it. ... show more

This garage heater will keep me warm in my garage while I’m working on my many projects. I had been making a mess in the house until now. My wife has not been happy about that even though I clean up after. We will probably use it on the patio also for entertaining. Good product. Thanks.

Picked up this heater to use while working on car restoration in the garage. It is made to use outside too but have not tried that yet. Box says it is waterproof, wonder if that should say water resistant? Waterproof means “impervious to water”, I would not drop this in a bathtub or pool. This is not UL Listed but it is ETL certified “proof of product compliance to North American safety standards”. Instructions say it needs a 30 Amp circuit. I have not seen a single phase 30 Amp circuit? Used mine on a 20 Amp. Assembly Instructions are not much help but only 6 fasteners to put it together. It folds up a little to save storage space. This thing heats fast. But like all electric heaters it will use some power. At $180 it is a little expensive. Will see how long it lasts. If you live in a cold climate this would be very handy. ... show more

    • Made in China. Lots of heat. Best for outdoors.
There are lots of these infrared heaters being sold (usually by Chinese companies) on Amazon right now. The thing which makes this one different is the fact that it offers a “frame” which makes it easy to move around. Others either have to be attached to a wall. . . or. . . they are on a tripod stand which is not as easy to move around. Infrared heaters are not the best option for indoors. They get VERY hot. You might be able to use them in large areas, like a large basement, but not for smaller areas. Even in a large area, you will want to watch it very closely, and not leave it unattended. It’s also not good around kids and pets. If kids and pets are around; you’ll want to make sure it is placed high enough so that they can not reach it. This heater is Made in China and being sold by a Chinese company on Amazon. At the current price of 140 bucks, it’s well over twice the price it should be. Currently there’s a 60 buck coupon on this listing, so make sure you click there, if the coupon is still available. ... show more

We are using this to heat our garage so my husband can work on our vehicles and it is amazing!
