We liked the look of these since our dogs sleep in the kitchen-- the standard black wire crates are unsightly and not something we wanted to look at all the time. We have small dogs (each with their own crate) so there's enough room for them to be comfy. Putting them together is like assembling Ikea furniture- a bit fiddly to have the pieces lean against each other and hopefully not fall over while you're screwing the first couple walls together and the instructions weren't the best, so it look a good 2 hrs the first time (the 2nd crate came together in half this time, though). ... show more

My dog is a level 10 escape artist with intense anxiety. He was able to muster super dog strength to bend the bar on the door. This is the third cage my dog has busted through. We are going to stop trying to cage this poor guy and look in to other ways to barricade him safely. SELLER FULLY REFUNDED MY MONEY. Seller was responsive, empathetic, and efficient. This crate is nice as a crate/end table - HOWEVER, there are some things to watch out for if you decide on this one. First, make sure the opening is on the side you need, otherwise placement in your room will be awkward. Second (probably should have been first) the holes are not drilled deeply enough to take the entire screw. If you try to force the screws, they will strip and you will never be able to get them in all the way. You will need a drill to deepen the holes prior to placing the screws. This can be measured by inserting the allen wrench provided to see how deep the holes are, then measure against the length of the screws they provide. That will indicate how much further you will need to drill. ... show more

Gee, I was really hoping this crate would keep my Houdini dog from escaping, but no such luck. I’ve never left her more than 2.5 hours & that’s all it took to chew the lower frame & pull the bars out. I know you tried but it just couldn’t contain my Collie/Lab mix. Do you want it back so you can do an examination on the damage so maybe you can build it stronger or more durable? It is actually a great crate, just not for my pup. ... show more

I wanted a kennel that looked more like furniture and this fits perfect. My pup loves it and I love the top opening. My only complaint is not with the seller but the delivery - box was beaten up badly and the wood was chipped in a few places. Luckily it is not easily visible because of how the kennel is positioned. ... show more

    • Predrilled holes don't line up correctly.

This is your typical predrilled and easy into install furniture. There's a warning about installing the top door and it cracking but that they are incorrect about why it cracks. The fault is in the holes for the door hinge. The Tapered Screws going into the Counter Sunk matching holes forces the Hinge to bind and causes the Board to crack. The Tapered Screws that should of never been used. They don't allow the screw to slide in the case of a poorly centered Predrilled Hole. The only reason the Side Door didn't panel didn't break during install was because I feathered the Tapered Screw I didn't tighten the Side Door down because I saw the misaligned Door Latch holes. The idea behind the Tapered Screws Self Centering on the Counter Sunk Hinge Holes was well thought out, but obviously didn't take into consideration the Sub-par craftsmanship tolerance. I will be requesting replacement pieces before considering returning the product. ... show more
