I bought this set of shelves for a specific purpose. I needed something to hold collectible die cast cars in a narrow hallway. I'm happy to say that this product performs that function acceptably. No missing pieces, and all shelves matched the number in the picture! All hardware for assembly was present! All parts were clearly labeled! So far, so great. Now for the assembly. The instructions are good, but not very good. One diagram gave me a moment's pause, and I had to redo two of the steps as the picture was unclear about specific placement. Apart from that, the shelving unit went together without much of a problem. You will need a phillips head screwdriver and a hammer to complete the project. As I built the shelves I got a bit nervous about the quality...it seemed rickety and unsteady. This was solved with three boards nailed to the back. That sturdied her up just fine! The finish is a nice black wood, and the boards are also black with a wood pattern printed on them. I can't say anything bad about the product, but it's prefab furniture, so don't look for serious quality. It performs its designed-for function, and if you can read directions it goes together just nicely. I opted for the four stars because of the directions being drawn by amateurs, and the sturdiness of the piece (although not bad) would not encourage me to put something expensive and fragile on it...bear in mind, it doesn't have a large base to support it, and if loaded incorrectly will be ungainly and top-heavy. To combat this, they do include an anchor kit which will help, but it's nothing professional, in my humble opinion ... show more

I have two. One I have in the closet to hold my karaoke CDs and the other I have at the lake house to hold our movie CDs. The shelf is small enough that I have on the side of a coat closet, easy accessible but not in view.

This shelf is easy enough to assemble, and is a decent looking piece. However, its design is not well thought out and a strong enough gust of wind from an open window could probably knock this thing down. Poking this shelf slightly with your finger will cause it to wave back and forth. I also had to put pieces of cardboard under the front of it just to level it properly. ... show more

VERY disappointed with this product. I didn't expect fabulous for $30, but I didn't expect Dollar store cheap either.. First, it made a hot mess when unpacking (had to vacuum each pieces due to white pieces all over. Then, while cleaning the pieces, there were several pieces that are damaged and or scratched (see photos). Third, the directions were a little difficult to understand and not all the pieces were labeled. Fourth, once together, it's just NOT a sturdy piece at all, it is too cheap and light to be so tall (will tip easily). We went ahead a put it together and are going to try to use it. It's a piece that i plan on putting in a spare closet for DVD's, I would NEVER put it OUT for viewing. At one point, I almost just tossed it out a wanted to be done. It's not even worth the returning hassle. STRONGLY advise not to waste your time or money on this product ... show more

The first thing I noticed was that foam was shredded and all over ever board and I’m not talking about a few small pieces I mean I had. To wipe down everything out of the box because the packaging foam was everywhere. Next I took my time and made sure everything was assembled correctly and tightened down securely because immediately out of the box I could tell it’s made of cheap particle board. Once complete I stood it up a the entire shelf sways with the slightest touch I went back through and retightened everything and same thing. The shelf it’s self looks ok enough but this shelf is intended to store and display a fairly pricey collection of video games I wish it was more stable that what it is if I remove a game I’m afraid it’s going to be enough to dump the entire contents of the shelf on to the ground with the shelf coming down on top of that hopefully my daughters don’t pull it down on themselves. I’m giving it two stars just because it doesn’t look horrible it just is horrible kind of like an ex girlfriend. ... show more

So let's be honest, you get what you pay for and many products from Amazon are going to be from China. This was rated not so great but it was on sale during the Prime Days and I just needed something quick and easy to hold some excess DVD's and BluRays. Perfect fix, everything was included, box was smashed a bit but everything was in tact and included. Easy as heck to build, turned out to be a good little shelf. 😉 ... show more
