I ordered the CCTV camera set understanding it has to be wired. Cable has to be run to each camera. It isn't wireless. I already had a system running, so it was basically swapping out the cameras and DVR. Setup was very easy. The system is preset to record to the hard drive. You have tons of options. You can customize the cameras for your use. The picture quality is clear and the colors are bright. The cameras are made of plastic. That should keep rusting from destroying the cameras. The night vision is great, you can still make out detail. If the cameras are in a little light you still see in color at night. I like the notifications you can setup to send you a notification is motion is detected. It does take a little work to refine the motion detection so you dont receive notifications when a blade of grass moves. I also added four more cameras and it works perfectly. This camera system arrived in new condition and adequately protected inside a branded box. The instructions unfold like a medium map and are printed in both English and Spanish. It's worded well and uses plenty of diagrams. The cameras are light and easy to put up. The receiver unit seems well built enough. I did run into an issue with two loose screws and two disconnected screws inside the receiver. They were from the motherboard. I was able to easily open it up tighten/replace them to their proper positions at the cost of a star. Still would recommend though. ... show more

For those people who don’t want to rely on wireless, this is a wonderful system. All the cameras are connected to one main hard drive that keeps the recording of everything for 24 hours. You can also go on the cloud with all of this if you want to subscribe to a service. I highly recommend

As a wired system, installation requires running cables from the cameras to the DVR unit. While this takes more effort than wireless options, it provides a stable and reliable connection. The cameras are designed for indoor and outdoor use, with weatherproofing to withstand various environmental conditions. The only thing that might have made this system better would be if they were wireless. It comes with four cameras that allow for as many different viewing angles. The DVR has a storage limit, so attention must be paid to monitoring that for effective recording as necessary. You will also need your monitors to use this unit adequately. This comes with a disc that has lots of space on it. It has eight cameras that are wired. These are not wireless cameras. They will not work if they are not plugged into the box. So I will have to order more cable because they are not long enough for my home. The ones that are long enough I was able to record for 24 hours without needing a subscription. I was able to download the app to my phone free of charge and I'm able to maneuver within the app without problems it's easy to use. The picture quality and video quality are amazing. This unit worked great right out of the box. I was able to connect the mobile app on my smartphone with no issues and see live video or playbacks from anywhere. The 1080P cameras are super crisp and do really well in very low light or no light conditions. It's a great deterrent for anyone stalking your home.
