The freezer came with little evident damage to the packaging, and a surprising amount of denting, even a hole in the side (though not all the way through). I expected that might happen based on other reviews. It's going in my garage so I'll live with it - I'm sure not going to try to ship it back. It works just as described. Most of the bad reviews deal with shipping damage or the fact that it is manual defrost - read the description people! Yes, a little extra work every so often, but it costs less to run, is quieter, maintains a more even temperature, and doesn't create freezer burn nearly as fast as the self defrosting larger freezers. The product is just as ordered, however the coating on the side was damaged and bubbling up and the top interior shelf is broken on one side. The delivery men said that it had fallen over in the truck because of the road they traveled prior to my delivery being very rough. I don’t know why it wasn’t secured properly and I would like to file a complaint about that. That’s probably why the shelf is broken. I plan to follow up with Amazon to see about how I can get these issues resolved. ... show more

The dual-door swap advertised feature seemed a little more complicated than I'd like to try to switch the door operation. Especially the bottom fasteners, given it's not advised to tilt over a refrigerator/freezer, due to potential damage to the compressor. Also, this freezer is replacing one that had a bad door seal, so changing out the door opening seems to be more trouble than it's worth. Lastly, the delivery drivers ignored my delivery instructions, which was mildly annoying. On the whole this is a good unit. I would have also preferred a white color option to match the other five white appliances in the same room it shares. I think the freezer is just the right size, but it's too lightweight. It takes two hands (one to steady the freezer) to open the door without it tipping. I added some food and a 20# bag of ice, but still no joy. Anyone know a fix for this?

I have had this freezer for over a year and it works great. I was a little nervous purchasing it but I would recommend it. Looks good, has ample space for 1-2 people household. This stand-alone upright freezer allows me to grocery shop once a month and periodically take advantage of good sales. While my refrigerator with freezer is great, it is not large enough to allow me that freedom. So I value this little box for money saving shopping and for the freedom to make meals ahead and freeze for convenience. I haven't had it long enough to speak to temperature control except that within a couple of hours I was able to use it safely. The unit has worked fine for 9 months. However it now has a huge chunk of ice clinging to the ceiling in the unit. The door seal is solid and we are fairly dry here. I expected some frost on the shelves where I understand the cooling comes from. Really puzzled about the ceiling and how to deal with it. ... show more
