The extra battery was a nice feature because it extended the fun. Instruction manual was well-written with easy to follow details. The boat has a dive feature and the first time we were nervous it disappeared! Figuring out the dive feature was a little challenging. I bought the red, blue, and green boats for my husband. They are impressively fast! Almost too fast for our pool. We have to be careful to not run them into the walls. But out in a lake, they are so fun to use! We haven’t tested the battery life to its fullest yet son not sure how long they actually go for. HOWEVER, the green boat we got might be defective. Literally after like 10-15 seconds (not even exaggerating) the remote starts to beep as if it is low on battery, which makes it too many to use. We’ve tried swapping batteries and making sure it was fully charged, but nothing helped. The green boat also gets water inside its chamber so maybe that’s why it beeps? Over all, I’d recommend these boats, just maybe not the green one. ... show more

Update: this company has insane customer service, they saw the review, reached out directly, and made everything right! I now have a fully working system and am super happy with the experience. If you have an issue, contact them, they will do what it takes. My issue was that the battery compartment screw stripped out, so the cover was not holding the batteries in place properly. So the first time I used it, it was fun. It has good speed, the controls work well. Sometimes too well, this thing can make some pretty sharp turns. However, I tried to use it a second time and it just flat out wouldn't turn on. I thought maybe I accidentally grabbed some old batteries, so I replaced them, and still nothing. What I discovered was that if I squeezed the battery compartment, it would work, but this obviously made it hard to operate. I ended up getting it stranded in the middle of a pond and just left it. I really wanted to like this, but it's just not made that well. ... show more

What a nice little r/c boat I thought. That was until we ran it. So I bought this early for my son's birthday this month, June 15, of 2018. Bought in March and have had it stored away. Took it out on Thursday June 7 and thought I'd give it to him early as we took a camping trip from the 8- the 10th. I opened it and charged it up while I went through the instruction manual. I greased it and all as book didn't say if it came like so from factory. Seemed like it had some but went ahead and put some more. We setup our camping spot and hit the lake for some sight seeing and so that I may surprise him with his gift. He loved it. We put it in the water and ran like a champ. It's great, battery died and upon taking the battery out I noticed the motor was really hot,(it even has a "don't touch" symbol on it. So we relaxed and let it cool down before putting in the other battery and having another go. So we did just that, it "died" rather quickly; more like the motor burned out. Or so I thought, or I didn't charge the battery fully. I opened it up and indeed it was smoking and there was a charred surface around beneath the battery. Utterly dissapinted! We all were. That was on friday, our first day and 2nd use out of it. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! Says it has a water cooling system, yet there is no actual pump to pull water from whatever body of water you're running it in. Got home today, and disassembled it. Put it back together and gave it another go. Runs slow as in limp mode and battery died within a couple seconds. UTTERLY DISSAPOINTMENT!!! $70 down the drain. I can't even return it because the window closed in April. Ridiculous! I should NOT have to look into repairing it! How can I even get a refund or an exchange for a new one!!!!???!?!?!?! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!! I had to wait until it was in stock and went ahead and ordered it as I didn't know if I would order it this month let's say, they would have it in stock or not. What do I do in this situation. I'd like to make a claim for a faulty product!! ... show more

SCROLL FOR IMPORTANT UPDATE: Original Message: Don't get me wrong. It was lots of fun....until it wasn't. Multiple issues: Flooded battery compartment. Wouldn't accept trim commands so the boat constantly veered to the right. The boat operated out of water, which it shouldn't do, and I couldn't stop it. I think my grandson may have damaged the boat by causing it to crash against the side of the pool. But if you use this boat in a pool, that's what happens when young children operate it. They don't let up on the controls fast enough. You do the math. If two or three uses is worth the price of the boat, then buy it. IMPORTANT UPDATE: The supplier reached out to me and offered a full refund. This in spite of my message suggesting that the faults might have been partially due to my grandson's mishandling the boat.
