  • Narrow but comfy enough chair
* 1 star removed due to issues with assembly I ended up having to replace the first chair I received because it was very difficult to assemble and the included tools they had were so cheap that I actually stripped the nut and screws to the point where I couldn't continue assembly or take it apart either. The second chair assembly went much smoother, the tools included still were terrible and by the end they were so mangled they didn't even work anymore, but the chair was assembled and worked so it turned out fine. Honestly, I really like this chair and think it's pretty comfortable. It makes you sit up a bit straighter than I normally would, but that's not too bad, and the fact it can fold up is pretty nice, though we won't ever really use that feature. As you can see in the pictures, it looks really nice and looks really solid, definitely seems to hold up to the 450lb weight limit advertised. There are a couple of weird things though, like the way the arms attach, they seem like they're shaped to line up flush against the side of the chair, but they don't, they stick out from the side of it pretty far, so you can see there's a gap between the back and the arm of the chair where they connect which is really odd. I think that piece's shape really wasn't thought through well, but either way it still attached and works so it's fine. Also, as shown in the photos, there's these weird like angles that stick up and out from both ends of the right and left armrest, and I have no idea why they're pointed the way they are. I'm seriously a bit concerned one of my kids or someone passing by might clip one of those or snag something on it and cause an issue, it's just odd that they stick out so far past the edge of the armrests. Assembly for the first chair took almost a full hour and was absolutely terrible, I stripped multiple screws, the included tool to hold the nut in place was completely bent to where it didn't even work anymore, and I ended up having to pay $31 to my local UPS store just to re-package it (I couldn't even get it disassembled to ship it in the original box) and it was just a total disaster. Assembly for the second chair went much better, only took about 20 minutes, was super straightforward and much easier and everything went together perfectly, though the tool used to hold the nuts in place while tightening the screw did break again by the end, but I had another tool I was able to use in place of that (a socket wrench). All in all, this chair supports a high weight limit, looks pretty good, folds up pretty compact which most chairs like this don't do, and in general seems like a great chair, barring the assembly issues I experienced. ** One last thing, if you do order this, during assembly, pay extra attention to the length of the screws it says to use, because once you attach the nut onto a screw you can't get it off again (this happened to me) and there's two different pairs of screws included in the hardware for this that are different lengths, so make extra sure you use the right length ones for the instructions (don't get L and M screws confused) or you won't be able to assemble the chair and will have the same issues I had with my first one. ... show more

  • Nice
Like the quality and met expectations. A little shorter than expected even though the measurements were the same as other chairs I have these were definitely shorter.

  • Good quality for price
Color: A-gray
Nice chairs. Came in less than 48 hours. Good quality. Easy to assemble, easier if you use your own tools.

  • Really good Adirondack chair
This adirondack chair needs to be assembled before use, but it's pretty simple to do, especially with two people. Just don't tighten down anything all the way until completely sure everything fits together. We've had it outside with no throughout the hottest summer in a long time and it's held up extremely well. The material is a hard composite and it's looking great. I suspect it will continue to look great year after year! ... show more

  • To love or not to love ...
That is the question. On the one hand, it took two days for me to finally get this thing together--not because I am completely inept with tools (I designed and built my own house) but because the directions (or should I say drawings? There were almost no words) were worse than nothing, and had me doing what really should have been the next step before the first one it suggested. Then, it used unlabeled bolts of only very slightly different lengths but otherwise identical look--especially in the drawings--so that I kept trying to put shorter ones where longer ones were needed and vice versa. Then to make things as difficult as possible, the sloppy job done on the bolt holes left plastic flashing in place and wouldn't let the bolts go through to the other side so I could put washers and nuts on them. I finally resorted to re-drilling all the holes in order to put the bolts in place (once I finally got them sorted by size and figured out which went to what). Oh, and when it says you need two people, you really do need two people. Either that or a lot of things to prop stuff up with (as I did) and contortionist propensities (as I don't). But somehow or another I finally got it together and took it out for a spin (or rather a sit). I am tall. It is low--really low. I sat on the edge and then slid backwards, without conscious volition, to the back of the seat. I had no choice--it's made that way. Ah ... heaven. I leaned back, closed my eyes and enjoyed the comfort of a well thought out wholly ergonomic design for rest and relaxation. Then I thought, "This is so comfortable, maybe I will go get my laptop and write a review sitting out here in my new chair." That is when love began to wane. I love this chair when I am in the mood to stare blindly into space or take a snooze in the garden, but it won't do (IT WON'T DO i TELL YOU!) for work. The whole design says 'sit back and rest'. When I try to sit up and write, it says no-no you naughty child, sit back and rest. It MAKES me sit back and rest. I push myself forward, it turns into a silicone-coated sheet and slides me back into position. I struggle heroically to the very brink of the seat and there I totter until gravity (enhanced in some diabolic way, I'm sure) pulls me backward once again. I can only make it stop holding me back by tearfully promising NOT to work and then throwing myself off the edge of the seat before it can discover my subterfuge. (Then I sneak like a scolded child into my old desk chair in the house to complete my task.) Bottom line ... if you have the patience of Job while putting this together (and a drill!), and you never even think about trying to work while sitting in it, AND if you have a friend or family member to pull you out of it before it is ready to release you, you will love it. Otherwise, you might want to look into something decidedly less comfortable. ... show more
