ok, for light duty the description said can be used for chickens, used once and the net ripped, the way the handle tightens also made it turn when in use, doesn't hold the animals well.

    • Love the compact nature but seems a little flimsy overall
I love the compact nature of this net for my purposes, but it seems a little flimsy overall for pulling in heavy fish that are flapping about. 2 sides of the net have metal framing, but third side of the frame is some type of flexible rubber tubing type of material. Also, the part of the net that is closest to the rod, is held in place by a thin ring similar to the type of ring that I typically see for tags that hang off a key ring. It seems like the net will tear in this location first. For my purposes though, I like to keep a small net on the boat for times when someone drops something in the water by accident or to get a random piece of floating trash out of the water. I think this will work perfect for that, but I would expect to pay around $10-$15 for something of this quality. Overall, it's a handy compact net but the $30 price seems high for the level of quality. ... show more

This is great to keep it compact with fishing gear but there are some drawbacks. The net has some weaknesses that may pose an issue if used to secure larger fish. I wouldn't use this one if you're tournament fishing or pulling in a trophy! The folding feature is great from a storage/carry standpoint but it isn't the easiest to open. The price is a tough one to support. If this net were much sturdier and the folding and expanding process was easier and smoother, maybe I could see the price point being justifiable. But as is, I would say this is a pass. ... show more
